    Default Ed's amps..

Was just wondering how many well known artists use his stuff. I was watching a dvd of Aerosmith videos which included the "making of" and noticed some 5150 amps in the background. They were in the making of footage, but in the video it was all Marshall amps! I'll have to look again.

The 5150? Machine Head, Ted Nugent come to my mind and then there's a whole bunch of Death and Hardcore bands.

My current favourite uses them, Steve Morse.

You bring up Richie Sambora, reminds me of a true story. A friend of mine builds boutique amps called Reynolds Valveart amps. Beautiful point to point hand wired works of art, three channels, perfect. Amongst others, it is used by Dave Warner of the Baby Animals.

He was telling me that when Bon Jovi were last here in Australia, Sambora looked him up and came out to his workshop (which is out of the way in Windsor, west of Sydney). LOVED the amps and ordered 4 of them to be shipped to the US. Pete built them and then rang Richie to get payment details. Richie told him he wasn't going to pay for them but that Pete would be able to say that Richie Sambora uses his amps, but he couldn't actually publish it because Sambora had a endorsement with (I think) Marshall.

    My mate Pete said....uh..no thanks.

Interesting......Like Ritchie didn't have the dough? I just don't understand how people who come from the real world and then make it BIG time can't spread the green to other people trying to make a living. What the hells $25,000 grand or whatever to someone who's worth many, many millions of dollars? Someone should remind Ritchie that while he's got some serious chops, he's not really considered a guitar hero and no one gives a rat's ass what he's playing.

I've seen Jerry sporting a EBMM a few times, as well as Brad Whitford from Aerosmith. Oh, and Dweezil Zappa too.

Yeah, you must have him confused with a different "Eric".

Yea, I can't see, or hear for that matter, Eric playing thru 5150's.

I did have a conversation with Andy Timmons about the amp though, and he does own and play a 5150 pretty often.
