    Brett Michaels' "Rock Of Love"?

Did anyone else tune into this trainwreck on VH-1 last evening? It was fascinating, as I simply could not take my eyes off of it.

It's basically a "Bachelor"-type of show, for the severely sociopathic amongst us. There isn't one person in the cast (including the host) that isn't somehow dillusional or emotionally damaged to some extent. This is proven by the nebulous "goals" stated by the host and women for being there. The women mostly state a vague notion of "PARTEE!! WOO-HOO" as an ultimate outcome, while Michaels seems to be looking for a "lover and a friend", cryptically not alluding as to how long this "relationship" is meant to last. Tellingly, he makes no mention of the potential of the "winner" becoming a surrogate mother to his children, a pair of daughters only mentioned once.

The show is occasionally laugh out loud funny, as when the hapless Michaels shrugs in utter confusion when referring to the communication skills of some of the participants.

Like I said, I could not not watch this thing, it was that bizarre. In the coming weeks, the women will be subjected to all sorts of degradation, including football played in the mud.

    I'm there.

I agree, Chef, that was F'n bizarre. The utter stupidity of some of those skanks left me speechless. That blonde chick Candy was so mother-bleeping annoying and stupid I've never seen anything like it.

I'll be watching again Sunday night.

Thanks for the review CC (no pun intended). I really love bad TV. Watching crap like this is like an episode of Mystery Science Theater at my house. So I'm looking forward to it.

What's amazing is how shamelessly transparent it all is, from the nastiest
of tour dog skanks showing their asses on truth serum (I somehow expected
Michaels would pull better than Flavor Flav, wig or no wig) to the producers
and Michaels openly admitting they're keeping the rejected hag around to
exploit and abuse as comedy. Unbelievable.

I watched, and laughed my ass off.....not necessarily because it was funny but rather just stupid which still made it funny.

Michaels monotone voice is rather boring as hell and he's not even close to being as funny as all the Flavor Flav "isms" that Flav used. Nonetheless it was funny as hell to see him try to spend "time" with all these blond skanks throwing themselves at him. I also thought it was hilarious that that one black chick was all pissed off at the end and did not even want to hug Bret. I guess she was peeved because Bret failed to like her for her intellect.

I wanted to dismiss this show out of hand...but then...I ended up tivo-ing it and calling my wife into the room, and I told her, "I have seen the future of television, and it is Rock of Love!" So awful. So good.

They showed the previews for the upcoming episodes and I counted at least two instances of drunken skanks throwing up. That's good tv. Loves it.

I thought it was pretty comical. Highlights for me:

    1. When the one chick said "I love the song Every Thorn has it's Rose"
    2. The drunk chick (I think her name was Tiffany). I really appreciated VH-1 doing the subtitle thing when she talked - otherwise I couldn't have figured out what in the hell she was saying. Can you believe she is a RN?!?!?
    3. WTF is up with Bret Michaels' hair? Dude, just accept the fact you are bald(ing) and move on. The bandana and cowboy hat is played out.

I must say, though, I really enjoyed "Scott Baio is 45 and Single" even more than "Rock of Love". Sunday nights are going to be busy for me the next 8 weeks.

Both shows had me rolling with laughter. Incdientally "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" is pretty funny as well.

    Question for you...

During both shows last night they ran comercials for a show called "The Pick Up Artist" (I think) and the guy in the commerical (whom I guess is the pick up artist) referred to himself as "Mystery".

    Any connection?????

I'm ashamed to say that I sat transfixed for the whole hour and a half. I'm pretty sure my mouth was hanging open in disbelief the entire time as well!

I didn't think it was possible for VH-1 to find a group of women that are dumber, skankier and trashier than the ones from Flavor Flav's shows. I was so wrong. Some of these girls take the phrase "rode hard and put up wet" to a new level.

Got this one all set-up on myTIVO so I don't miss a thing! The preview of the girl spewing vomit from behind her napkin looks charming; can't wait to see what that's all about.
