we all no they are all great players. however, solos bore me. please hear me out. wouldnt it be great for a change for the band to do something different this time out. how about baluchitherium, (i think i spelled it out right). that would be great. that song is heavy.(trevor rabin riff). or something instrumental written just for the tour. i dont know. what do you guys think?

With all due respect to Mikey and Alex, bass and drum solos do nothing for me. I'd be more than happy if Mikey sings a song again rather than doing a bass solo.

But to me, Eddie just has to do a solo, it's just a necessary part of a Van Halen show. I do think he needs to shake it up a bit this time around, it hasn't changed enough in the past few tours in my opinion.

I agree with Glenn, we should be able to see the world's greatest guitarist do a solo in concert.

I think DLR was VH and always will be, they just conformed to new styles with each new member to make money, there roots were in the 70's and 80's maybe thats where they should have stayed, or called themselves a different name, reminds me to much of Jefferson Starship, dont get me wrong I liked some of Haggars songs but it was a different band, just wish it was over and done.

Standing on the stage for 20mins doesn't show or prove anything, ,maybe in the 70's 80's it did, but nobody cares about guitar anymore. Most songs today, even rock songs have no solo's, today it is about the song not the guitar.

yawn, I see a 'Motley Crue' thang happenin' all over again!

Huh? I got lost by one of those posts. The rock songs today suck. They don't have anything to look forward to. They just repeat over and over. Solos are great and guitar isn't important today, because nobody knows how to play! They all suck! Eddie is the king! I want all the new songs to have solos, because they add to the songs and I think Eddie should do an instrumental or two on the new album, because I love all of his work. If you don't want solos, go listen to some crappy new band.

And we were getting along so well
drum and bass solos may do nothing for you BUT the drum solo is the whole reason why I go to a show

Solos are okay, just as long as Eddie doesn't sing.PLEASE EDWARD< DON'T SING>

And Please mix up your solo, I think I have heard the same one for 10 years.

But if you don't hey, I will still love hearing it. I am in no position to make demands. I will take what I can get.(Except the sing)(I am sure I won't get that back stage pass now)

Hey, they're Van Halen. Watching them solo is part of the show, and who's to say if it'll be all the old stuff. Even if it is, it's still great to watch. Sounds like someone needs a few more hours sleep.

For me, the guitar solo is cool if it's kept to under 10 minutes, the bass solo is tolerable, and the drum solo is excruciating.

Like you said, to each his own.

Hopefully we can start over from scratch.

We need solos! Eddie's solos are cool to me! Great playing, I love the whole thing!! I liked the latin drum solo thing, but that's it for the drum solo. And I also like Mike's solo from that same tour (with the star spangled banner, and Sunday Aftternoon in the Park)!
