Love this place, always has what I need.

I did a search before starting a new thread and this one seemed like the most appropriate; I'm looking for a great song to use for a memorial slideshow/video I'm producing for my beloved Grandmother. She passed last month.

My aunt, bless her heart, hastily made a slide show and used cliché songs like the Celine Dion's "Titanic love theme" I can't even remember the song title

So I'm making a video of my own and am in need of some recommendations. So far this thread has offered Sarah's "Angel" and Montgomery's "I Miss You A Little."

I last asked this favor when I produced a video for Father's Day several years ago and everyone was really helpful.

She was 89 and left behind a really beautiful, loving family.

    Thanks for your help.

    Karma Wheel - Sammy Hagar

It's scary how the lyrics fit things with me lately. The tears didn't flow last time I listened, but it was close.

Thanks scum, that's a powerful tune. The Hagar I love to listen to.

Not really for Grandma, you know?

But glad to hear from you.

Dude, that's the best Hagar solo song EVER.

    Period.

Yep, even over Heavy Metal, I said it.

I can only listen to that track once in a while. Powerful. Especially for Sam.

Tear-jerkers, though...hard to top Who Wants to Live Forever by Queen.

    Faith Hill--You're Still Here

When I saw your post I went and dug this cd out of a box because I immediately thought of this song. I first heard this right after my Uncle died. I had to pull my car over because I couldn't see for the tears. I have lost 3 of my four Grandparents in the span of a year. Both my Grandmothers within 2 months of each other and my Grandpa just last month. I completely understand how you feel. I just listened to it again to make sure it was appropriate for you and I really think you will like it. It's not a long song but it is beautiful. Maybe you could add it to your memorial.
I am so sorry for your loss...

Yes, yes - excellent choice! I was going to say "All I Want Is You", but yeah, "Sometimes..." is great - "Kite"'s another good one, especially in a parent/child situation.

I believe that "Sometimes" was written as an eulogy for Bono's father.....

Having lost my own Dad a few years back....that song just gets me......ya' know........right here.......(sniff)
