Default FUCK! Its been 21 years!

Anyone else remember 4th Of July 1986?
I was working in a restaurant about to start my senior year of high school working with and banging all sorts of summer chicks on Cape Cod. Getting high, all night parties at college students rental houses even banging some college babes too.
The Statue of Liberty just got its makeover Van Halen was touring in support of 5150, Dave and the EEAS Band were touring for the first time as well.
and Yankee Rose was a staple song for the 4th of July.

Now I am pushing 40, got alot of gray hairs now, cut my hair short. Married with kid and living a nice life in Cali.

Van Halen is now back with Dave and Sammy is with his good buddy Mike and I am relatively happy.

    God Bless all our troops.

Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July, no matter who your a fan of, just make sure you get the chance to see either Van Halen or the Other Half.

    Let's see...

Twenty-one years ago, I was living with a psycho girlfriend in an "apartment" that was on the second story of a mostly-abandoned office building. I was playing classic rock and blues tunes in a band with a Devil-worshipping bass player.

Now I'm living in a nice house in the 'burbs of a different city with a hot blonde chick, to whom I've been married for fifteen years, and two beautiful kids. Among other musical projects, I play practically the same classic rock and blues tunes in a band with a born-again Christian bass player.

All things consdidered, I'll take the present.

I think I was just discovering the (what I considered at the time) beauty of first degree burglary, smoking dope, getting laid, selling coke and being pretty much an all around shithead.

Wow SB you were a naughty boy!

It's been 21 years!!!!! This time 21 years ago I was suffering through my ninth month with my first child who will be 21 in August. I cranked up 5150 and so began the new chapter of VH and my life as a so-called adult and parent.

I took my beloved firstborn to her first live concert which of course was VH in 2004.

And 21 years later still waiting for that reunion.....................
    RIP - Classic Van Halen

In 1986 I was 15, having fun hanging out with my friends and jamming to 5150 plus the classic 6 pack!

Wow, let's see, I was 13, saw my first concert DLR with Tesla as an opening band. 5150 was always in my headphones as I was riding my bike all over the place. I wanted to learn how to play guitar, Mom said NO. Got laid for the first time. Discovered drinking.
Now, married, 2 kids, one on the way, teaching career, home owner, but here's the kicker. My 6-year old wears my OU812 tour shirt as a nightgown. She's like Pearl Jam more though.
    MTV ruined music!

Ok...l'll play along...1986...summer...I was heading into the fourth grade but thanks to an older sister, her friends, and the older brother of my best friend, VERY aware and appreciative of the current music scene. I remember the transition from DLR to Hagar quite vividly. My sister and all of her friends "sided" with DLR...in that they followed him and his solo career because after all, Dave was the ultimate showman! My best friend's older brother and his friends stayed with Van Halen because after all Sammy brought a much needed degree of musicianship to the group. And I, a product (or victim, however you want to look at it) of both groups' very passionate opinions, ended up how I have...loving VHIII...heeheehee

In all seriousness...1986 was such a strange time for me, because ALL of my "friends" were at least 7 years older than me...the only people my age I could get along with had siblings who were at least 7 years older than they were...we all were into these bands and movies that none of the other kids had ever even heard of...I remember one time, we were allowed to bring tapes to class with us to listen to if we finished our reading ahead of time and me and Steve had the "Girls Girls Girls" album by Motley Crue while the other kids had only discovered Shel Silverstein on tape...they thought we were from another planet!
