    Default My First EMO Encounter

It's a slow night, so I will share.

I'm at work a few weekends back at the motel when this guy, about my age, and a woman and what I think is a 14 year old girl come into the lobby to check in. As the father stands at the counter to do the paperwork, the faux 14 year-old girl sits down and flips open her/his/it's cell phone and begins to talk - LOUDLY. As I work through the check-in process, he/she/it starts walking around and fiddling with everything on our breakfast counter. I though that maybe he/she/it was talking to a girlfriend because the conversation, the LOUD conversation, went like this "Do you love me? Do you miss me? You don't really love me.". Then at some point it became clear that he/she/it was talking to MOTHER.

So I look at dad, who's fatter than I am and he says something about needing something for his son. At first I first I look out to see if he's talking about someone still in his car, and I realize that the girl with the women's jeans, red three inch heels and the ugly-Betty hairstyle is HIS SON.

What a fucking douche. This kid was totally rude and self-absorbed and disprespectful to everyone around.

I guess EMO is funny until you run into it in person. Like I said, his father was soft as a grape, never once telling his kid to shut up or keep it down. It was worse then I ever imagined EMO to be.

    EMO sucks.

I've seen that shit around. It's like just when you thought it was bad it gets even worse. the self absorbing sponge expands to record setting levels. it's like kurt cobain fucked everthing across the nation and spawned a new nation incapable of nothing other than constant joyless wallowing in despair.
If eddie were down and out on a sidewalk playing guitar I'd be next to him with a bottle and a blanky braving the cold. I would be sucking my thumb happily making chupa chupa noises in sync with the petroglyphic sounds that came from the mighty finger tips of Edward Van Halen.

If they have something like this when my son (5 months old) becomes a teenager I already have a technique I'm working on to help snap him out of it.

I like to call it "Constant Ass Kickings", I think if I combine this with a healthy dose of "Dad Might Kill Me If I Act Like A Dumbass" for the first 12 years he might have a chance at being a normal person.

That's a crazy story Axx, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't take that freak anywhere if he wanted to dress like a women. I guess I might make a deal with him, you can dress exactly how you want, but if I think you look like a moron I get to kick your ass, every day.

Young people in general perplex me these days...they can name multitudes of brand names for products ranging from entertainment to lip-gloss, yet cannot seem to grasp that abusing or killing another human being is a bad thing, let alone assuming responsible for one's actions.

Fuck it...civilization started to end the moment "fielding" in baseball began being refered to as "defense".

About 70% of the kids I go to school with are emo.

How the fuck did I end up being normal?

The wacky thing is that they probably see you as the odd-man out. Ask a group of them sometime when they all decided to be individuals together.
