    Default Evan Almighty

The last time we saw Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), he was being tormented by rival Bruce Nolan ('Bruce Almighty') onscreen, live from their Buffalo TV station. But as time passed and Evan has made up with Bruce, he's gone onto bigger and better things.

Newly elected to Washington D.C. as a congressman, Evan has left Buffalo in pursuit of a greater calling. But that calling isn't serving in the illustrious ranks of American politics but being summoned by the Almighty himself (Morgan Freeman), who has handed Evan the task of building a new ark, much as Noah did before.

With time passing by and his family belittled by Evan's newfound realization, Evan will have to do the work that God has given him in what promises to be an unusual adventure for a man who just wanted to serve his country, might actually be serving humanity.

Bruce Almighty grossed 245 million... This movie will be lucky to break 100 million...

Since Carell is in it, I'm seeing it. I don't expect it to be great but Carell should make it worth a watch.

Well, I'm not seeing it. But I think it will break $100 million. It's the summer, Steve Carell is hot right now, it's not R-rated so it's safe to bring the kids along. But I do think the Transformers will take a lot of business away from it.

Saw a rerun of "Bruce Almighty" yesterday. I thought it was really well written. Morgan Freeman is probably the most credible "God" since George Burns.

If they had the same group of people making the sequel, with Carell as the lead, it should turn out pretty good.

Of course, that's probably "wait for the DVD" good, not "spend 10 bucks to see it on the big screen" good. Though there will no doubt be some special effects used with a really big boat and a bunch of animals involved, we ain't exactly talking Star Wars here.

I'm not sure how it will be-being that Hollywood has disappointed more and more than surprised or pleased me recently. I'll probably go see-unless I hear horrible things about it. 40 Year Old Virgin was hillarious and he was great in Anchorman.
