Default New VH Book Due In August

Sorry if this has been posted elseware but no one appeared to have mentioned this in the new Guitar World magazine cover thread.

    http://www.guitarworld.com/article/n...ue_this_august

I know it was mentioned in some thread or two hear a while back but now there's a definite release date.

Looks like it's going to focus more on the soap opera angle of the band than just about any other book about them that I know of. I suppose that's only fitting considering that's *all* Van Halen's been about the past 10 years. However, since it's being written by an "outsider" with probably about the same limited access to information and rumors about the band as any serious fan, it'll probably be only as good as the writer can spin their take on the guys. At least it'll have some color photos but I'm not holding my breath for anything mind-blowing.

I'll pretty much agree with that. But with all other cool shit we get all pumped for, this fucker will probably get nixed like all the rest. LOL. Out.

There's very very few serious books about Van Halen. So already just the fact that one's being published has to be commended. 320 pages, that's substantial. Now the big question is what kind of sources this guy has.

He better have talked to Sherman, Michael Jackson, Eddymon and The Guy!

Me too. Won't be anything we haven't heard before and will no doubt be spun negatively.

Me too. The only book I'd be interested in would have to be written by someone who was a member of the band. Best suited for the job of course would be Mike because he would have a lot of stories to tell and all the other members would only tell their side of the story.
