Default "Mine All Mine" from Toronto - 1995

    http://youtube.com/watch?v=X1w5IvHSP...elated&search=

I just saw this for the first time. "Mine All Mine" is one of my favorite songs from the Hagar-era, and I only saw them play it live on tour at Monsters of Rock in 1988.

I think they sound stellar on this version, and it just further makes me wish they'd released this Toronto show on DVD. There's probably a lot of vault VH stuff that could have been put out during all the down-time, but in order for that to happen there needed to be coordination and cooperation on the part of the band and the company releasing it.

Andrew...agreed dude...Mine All Mine is one of my fav's too...I love recalling them opening the show at Darien Lake in '93 on th RHRN tour with this song...they had a heart beat pumping that got louder and faster for about 5 minutes as the show approached...then, the heartbeat sped up and melded into the beginning of the song as they ran out on stage...amazing...I was at both Toronto Molson Amphitheatre shows in Aug '95 and it sounded great then too...
...and in the end, on dreams we will depend...

Alex's drum solo that follows is maybe his best ever in my opinion- he simply goes nuts, yet keeps precise beats as well. I think he got better with age.
Wolfie is not Mike, but he's more than ok.
Mike is gone, but not forgotten. They played some amazing shows from 2007-2015; some people are in denial about it.

The Toronto PPV show is OUTSTANDING - some of Ed's best (and the BAND'S best, for that matter) playing ever committed to film. You CAN find the show on DVD (I believe it's been transferred from laserdisc that was only available in Canada for a very short time) if you hunt around on some of the trading sites - hell, it's prolly up on www.jamtothis.com...

    Good stuff, indeed...

My advice is to go for the alien abduction story. Look bemused, dishevelled and on the verge of tears as you recount your story of intrusive and degrading medical tests.
Worked for me anyway. I still have colleagues asking me what it is like to fuck a green womanoid with seventeen breasts.
Alternatively just walk in and inform everyone that alcoholism is indeed a disease and that they should be less judgemental and perhaps a little more supportive."

Ya, I was at both those shows. The band sounded fantastic both nights. Both nights were filmed as well, so those complete shows are in the can somewhere. I remember the weather was absolutely perfect both nights, and getting up the next day after the first show and getting to do it all over again that night. I felt like I was in heaven those two days. I could listen to this band live every night of the week and not tire of them.

I recall reading with an engineer that Sam had to go into the studio and do some vocal touch-up work for the Toronto pay-per-view because they were having wireless mic issues at the show(s). The plan, by WB, was to release it later in '96 on home video. They scrapped that when the shit went down in June. Since it is now clear that VH is no longer focused on the present and future as they so adamantly were in the 80s and 90s, there should be some vault digging and releasing of the archives. The technology of the day can work wonders when it comes to cleaning up and doctoring old recordings and footage (check out the more recent Led Zeppelin releases for evidence thereof). I'm sure most fans would truly appreciate some live DVDs spanning the '78 through '96 years.

    Love Mine All Mine.

    Always dug the verse:

"you got Allah in the east, you got Jesus in the west,Christ what's a man to do?"

    Thanks AT.

I've always loved how Sam sang the line: "Just kill the pain; numb my brain." He told a really great story years back about writing the lyrics and getting really drunk while doing it. He said there were just tons of crumpled up sheets on the floor when he finally got the ones he liked, and he stood up and only then realized how completely wasted he was.

Eddie's guitar solo is also one of my favorites; the phrases are awesome, but what does it for me is the way he comes off the last note on Beat One of the next measure. SO freakin' cool!

I'm well known around here for singing the praises of that solo - one of the absolute best Ed ever burned to tape. What's so KEWL about it for me is that it pretty much encompasses everything he does as a lead player in one tasty, tidy little spot...

I read an interview where ed said he just winged that solo and was going along looking at Don Landee for a signal when to end it, he kept looking and looking and thought it was going on to long and finally Donn gave him the signal. I wonder why they cut ties totally with Landee, him and Ed seemed really close. I know OU812 was not well produced but Ed seemed to really love working with him.....
