    Default Acoustic Repair

My Ovation accoustic recently fell off of a chair on my deck and the top has separated from the body (from the strap buttom below the bridge to half way around the bottom). It now sounds very thin. Is this something that can be repaired or is my guitar toast?

I'd take it to a luthier and let them take a stab at it. If it just separated and nothing is wrong with the integrity of the top or the bowl, I would think it would come out ok. I personally wouldn't try it myself if it were mine because most people don't have the jigs/clamps to glue on acoustic tops.

Good luck. Sorry to hear about the accident.
