Default Mike Peters and Billy Duffy performing on the empire state building

    How Cool is this?
Mike Peters (from my favorite 80s band the alarm) who recently recovered from Leukemia, Billy Duffy, and some others climbed the empire state building to raise money for the fight agains cancer!

Later this year they will do the same on top of the Snowdon (Highest point in Britain) and on top of the Mount Everest!

The Alarm is the other band from the 80's that I wish would get together for a reunion tour, but it's great to hear that Mike is healthy and strong again. Hell, I don't know if I would want to climb the stairs to the fucking Empire State Building!!!

Here's one from the old days.....

What I miss the most about the original Alarm is that it wasn't a frontman and 3 guys backing him up which is what the "new" Alarm turned into.

In the old days, you had three guys up front you could trade lead vocals and swap instruments and it still sounded like the same kickass band. Sort of Beatlesque in that respect, I guess.......

I agree!! they were and are a very underrated band! and they could have been so much bigger. I blame it all on the unfair comparison with U2 all the time (when they obviously sound more inspired by bands like the clash)

OMG that gave me CHILLS! That was so awesome!!! The Alarm was one of my very favorite bands in the 80s. I saw them on the Eye of the Hurricane tour.

Did you see them on that reunited show they had on VH1 a while back? I wonder if we'll ever see that whole show on DVD??? I would pick that up quick!

Good Lord that's a bit pricey! And dang it, my birthday was in February. *sigh* Good to know it's out there! Is it available anywhere in the US?

    Thanks for finding that!

Mike Peters has some great rare Alarm stuff for sale on that website, but the prices are ridiculous. I've found some of the Alarm remasters elsewhere, but that DVD hasn't turned up anywhere else yet. $65 plus international shipping is a little steep.

I saw the "new" Alarm on Sunday at Pine Knob. Not bad! Mike sounds awesome, and he says he is officially in remission now from leukemia. The band sounds pretty good, and I actually liked the three new songs they played. For some reason known only to the gods, they did NOT play Strength! What is that about???!!!???
