Halfway To Everywhere--The mighty Black Crowes vs. Halfway To Memphis--Sam Hagar

Halfway To Everywhere--The mighty Black Crowes

    You could be so energy
    Electricity
    You could be lightening
    You could be anything
    A masterpiece
    A revolutionary
You can see what, you want to see
    Can you let it be?
    Learn or teach

    Chorus

    Im only halfway to everywhere

    Im thinking positively
    Positively
    This is possible
They can say right or wrong
    Never hear this song
Or look you in the eye
    Im getting rid of negativity
    Lose the loss in me
    Call it equality
Good luck is a frame of mind
    Call it humankind
    And say its destiny

    Halfway To Memphis--Sam Hagar

Halfway to Memphis, drivin in the rain
Self confidence slippin, still runnin away
From the face in the mirror, the lines on the face
From NYC to the San Francisco Bay
From the ghost in the closet, the monkey on your back
From the one that really knows you, been there watchin' your back

But the fire in your belly still burns
    Just be yourself
    You're like no one else
    There's nobody like you
You can't find it on the shelf
    Just let the world know
    That you're ready for show
    Count 3 and let go
Before you turn around and go home

    Down by the lilikoi
    Near the old stone wall
    There time stands still
    Yet the water still falls
    There nothing much changes
    But the seasons still change
    Just wishin and hopin
    To break even again
You take these things with you
You take em to the heart
    But take nothing for granted
Well there's a good place to start
Until you feel the light circle again

    Just be yourself
    You're like no one else

    It's what I'm hungry for!

Maybe, just maybe, the worst piece of pop crap ever produced. Damn I HATE Skyscraper. Hina and Damn Good are excellent, the rest is over-produced "Oh My God Van Halen sold more than I did with a poppier sound, I'll show them!"

Van Halen III is Physical Graffiti compared to Skyscraper
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Since we are on the subject of the Black Crowes, their tour with Jimmy Page playing Zeppelin tunes might be the best show I have ever attended.

I didn't think Chris Robinson could pull off Plant's vocals, but the man has pipes. Very pleasantly surprised, didn't want the show to end.

Taking the time to sit there and analyze a guys lyrics you admittedly can't stand shows that you have be owned in the worst way possible. Sammy Hagar has control of your soul and you can't stand it. Jealous as the day is long. Whatsa matter BLL can't stand the fact that in 1995 Dave couldn't sell a record to save his life and Sam was...well..sittin on top of the world? Jealous that Dave has to kiss ed's ass now and Sam can sit back and make millions off of his tequila? When did that come out? 2000? How many original songs has Dave written and recorded since 1997, after the lyrically awful DLR Band? 2? 3? Like it would matter cause no one is listening to them anyway.

Before you turn around and go home

    There ain't no sanctuary
Young Jeff Buckley blood(blasphemy...Sam, Buckley could write lyrics...YOU CAN'T)
    You're halfway to Memphis
    In the Mississippi mud(nice)

    Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah(did he steal that from Eddie??)

    Be yourself
    You're like no one else
    There's nobody like you
You can't find it on the shelf
    Just let the world know
    That you're ready for show
    Count 3 and let go
Before you turn around and go home
Turn yourself around and get back home
Just turn around and go home
