Default When Ed gets out of rehab...

...I wonder if he's going to go to Mike when he comes to step 8?

Step 8: Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

Yesterday morning people were still bashing Ed. Yesterday afternoon people were cheering for him. I think it's great that he's getting help, he obviously needs it, but he brought this all on himself. And if they still do a tour without Michael Anthony my opinion will be the same as yesterday morning. All the reasons Ed has stated why Mike isn't in the band are absolutley rediculous. I have to laugh everytime Ed makes a comment, like in yesterdays statement, about the fans. This guys has absolutly no clue what the fans want. Who know's, maybe when he gets to step 8 we'll have the classic lineup again...

Call me cold if you want, but that's just how I feel.
I can't remember which comedian said it, about the current state of Van Halen, but he said right now, Van Halen is like a really hot playboy playmate with a prosthetic leg.

    BRING BACK THE CLASSIC LINEUP!

I can't even have an opinion on ANYTHING anymore unless it's exactly what everyone else thinks...oh and if I do it means I HATE this album, and hope it fails. Man some of you can fuck off...seriously. - BRETT

"You make music for people. Otherwise, just play in your closet. And how do you reach the most people? By giving them the band that they know. To do it any other way would be selfish.” - EVH, June 19, 2015 Billboard Magazine

"That's a load of crap. The fans know Michael Anthony." - Me, regarding the above quote from EVH, June 19, 2015

Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

A CVH reunion is still possible. All members are still alive.

But how are they going to save Wolfgang's face? There is a photo of him in the front page of the Rolling Stone magazine for VH version IV and that edition has been circulated. What a humiliation.
    DLR, circa 2001:

"Hey this is David Lee Roth and I promised you the news and here's the news.

About a year ago myself and the great Van Halen band played together once or twice and it sounded amazing!

In the following several months Edward and I, Edward Van Halen and me, David Lee Roth, created some of the most amazing, phenomenal - the hands fell off the clock ladies and gentleman and we wrote three astonishing tunes.

That was last July (2000) and since then I haven't been up to the studio, we haven't really been in touch and we haven't made any music, but I am holding forth, I'm in the shape of my life and I got the high note - I'm ready to go.

And I am positive for the future ladies and gentleman.

Stay tuned and I'll tell you what the future brings..."

Making amends with someone doesn't necessarily mean they have to be in the band. But in Mike's case, let's hope so.

    In Sammy's case..... no.

I don't get that at all... so he doesn't take the stage as part of offical VH... everyone who cares knows the history here and how he got to be in the band in the first place. For Wolfgang's part, the kid had a chance to play music with his dad, and oh yeah, join freakin' VAN HALEN. Good for him for jumping at the opportunity, and it's no reflection on his ability/character/future/whatever if the band decides to put one of the classic lineups back together.

Maybe he would feel differently, 16 year olds can wear their emotions on their sleeve sometimes. But regardless, if half of what Eddie says about Wolfie's talent is true (as opposed to being the output of an understandably proud dad) I'm sure the world will be hearing from him one way or another at some point.
RIGHT NOW, fear is trying to win.

Right? I'm thinking Val actually had much to do with much of this, and she [hopefully] probably got together with AVH and said enough is enough - save your brother/the father of my son from certain death...who knows?

Does Step 8 include apologizing for How Many Say I and refunding my ticket money for his shitty performances on the '04 tour?

I think Mike being replaced by a 15 year old is a bigger humiliation.

Just heard from the Live Nation promoter here in CT who admitted to knowing for a few weeks that Ed would be doing a 30 day stint in rehab. He also said they were holding a july date here in CT but that they no longer are and hopes to see a summer tour but it all will depend on Edwards condition.
I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.

They can't drag him straight from rehab to the road.

He needs to go rest and relax somewhere, away from VH the band, away from 5150. Stay sober for at least a year and then maybe hit the road.

Still promoting your own selfish agenda, eh? It's heartening to see how much you care about Ed's well-being, it truly is.

I guess it must derive from your deathly fear that once Ed's sober, he may not want to play with Dave and perhaps will make amends with the Red Rocker.

Your worst nightmare. Ironically, all other things being equal, if Ed maintains a true sense of recovery and its steps concerning former associates, it's probably more likely than not.

LOL. Frightening for a squid like you, ain't it.

At least a year, probably more, before Ed should even consider hitting the road, if ever again. I'd hazard an estimate of no less than twenty-four months of sobriety before hitting a tour circuit safely. Heck, I'd advise staying away from the decadence of the industry entirely, if not completely retired, then twice-removed from the big bang backstage chick dicks drugs booze arena shit. Maybe small clubs, acoustic gigs, jams with his son and his bro in the studio, guest singer and one-off EPs, feed his creativity without subjecting himself to the wicked wackiness of commercial hoopla rock and roll.
