Default Ed's OTHER Late Night appearance - the rare one

We've all seen the Panama jam when Ed was on Letterman in 1985. But how many of you remember Ed's first appearance on the show?

He was on the show late in 1984/early 1985 as a sit in with the band and played a bunch of VH tunes as well as other covers as they went in and out of commercial breaks.

This is really cool.....his tone is awesome and he plays some great licks. I've edited the show down to only Ed's parts....the whole thing is about 7 minutes long. I searched google and youtube and couldn't find any of this so there must be some of you who have never seen it.

I'm curious to know if any of you have this on tape or even remember it.

I used to have it on tape, I think it is funny I think this is right after Dave left the band, because Letterman asks Eddie what he thinks about Dave and Eddie kinds has that sheepish grin as he hides behind his guitar.

I was thinking the same thing. It was one hell of a guest list though.

I especially loved Paul Schaeffer's dance behind Ed during Jump. Pretty Woman sounded great in that clip.

another intersting note regarding Dave. towards the last break you see him finish a puff of his cigar and place it back in the ash tray. Dave loved those cigars before his heart problems became an issue. I had forgotten that he often smoked during the show. My how times have changed.
