I've had the head and the combo. If you're looking for a cheap, user-friendly, modelling amp they're great. I don't know if the sound quality is good enough for playing live, though. What are you planning on using if for?

Then it's a great amp. Good practice amp for you too. Man, I wish this technology was around when I started playing. We had crap to learn with!

Rolls, I just sold my Spider ll and bought a Spider lll 2x10 (120 Watts) I spent 4 hours in GC trying all different amps in that price range ($400-$500) because I wanted something else besides a Line6, but after 4 hours I ended up back with the Spider lll. You just cant beat it for the money! I dont play out live, (just in the living room) and it sounds great even at low volume's. The best thing about it is all great tunes they have programed in there. Just hit the button and BAM/ Aqua Lung! Custard Pie! Master of Puppets! Revolution! Cliffs of Dover! Barracuda! and on and on.........Go try one out, you wont be disappointed!!

    Default line 6 spider

Cool amp ..takes all the time out of finding the right sound ,or bands sound.
but as a great sounding stand alone amp I would look for a better one.once the novelty wears off I think You will wish you purchaced a better sounding amp first ...then find some effects second...Just a thought..:joe
