Default Which way to the private show?

Where's the thread for this? Surely I can't be the first one with the idea...?

Since the appearance of that corporate gig notice from Janie, has no one around here made any noise about organizing a private show for the Linkers? Come on, let's all pool our cash and hire the band. It might be our only way to get a less hits-derived setlist. Once we get over the hurdle of where to hold the thing, we can set up a Paypal account or something. How cool would that be? Thought you guys would be all over it.

We could even buy a ticket for Mikey.

Who do you think you are, Jeff Spicoli? ;-).

It's a good idea, but I expect that it'll cost far more than most of us can afford. Still, it bears looking into. Does anyone have a VH contact?

If this were going to work, I expect we'd all have to go to LA to minimize the costs associated with the show. Alas, the great Scotty Ross will not be on this tour.

You have to cut that 15k count significantly if you take into account half of 'em are duplicate aliases from the same people.

I didn't mean you. I meant the *real* Jeff Spicoli -- as in hiring VH to play your birthday party :-).

Math time! For shits 'n' giggles, let's call the cost of the event (individual transportation/lodging expenses aside) an even $1.2 mill.

Now, of the 15k registered users, let's be conservative and say 5k are real, current, active accounts. Of these, let's be generous and say 2k of them A) would like to see VHIV and B) can make it to, say, LA on some unspecified date this summer. Hmm... 2k into $1.2 mill...

Hey! That's only $600 a pop (plus expenses) for your own private Van Halen(-ish) show. Come on, gang, whaddaya want? If you'd pay for a premium ticket package to see 'em in an arena, wouldn't it be worth a couple bones more to see 'em in an intimate little 2k-seat theatre? Gotta be a better deal than a PlayStation 3, right? Break out the chamois, we gon' have us a car wash!

I think 20 people is way more accurate...so where should I mail my $60K?
