    Default Airbourne

These guys are a new Aussie band with a sound very similar to AC/DC. The bands debut single "Runnin' Wild" rocks big time.

If you want to hear it for yourself head over to the groups myspace site.

The bands official site has a bio.

Anyway, with the absence of AC/DC from the recording world for a while now, maybe these guys can fill the void. Besides I think the song kicks ass & thought I'd share it here.
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

Anyone given these guys a listen?

I'd be keen to read some feedback...

Our Donnas are all grown up!
J/k. Sorta. Good gtr sound. Good 'hey, hey hey!"s.
Good ol fashioned rock, but that's just it; when I wanna
get retro, I usually will just go straight to the source.
But then if you're 16, it's good to know the kids have this.

    $.02.

Ok, I've got myself a copy of the bands debut album Runnin' Wild and it flat out rocks!

    Airbourne is:

    Joel O'Keeffe - Vocals & Lead Guitar
    Ryan O'Keeffe - Drums
David Roads - Guitar & Backing Vocals
Justin Street - Bass & Backing Vocals

    All tracks written by J. O'Keeffe & R. O'Keeffe

    Track listing...

Stand Up For Rock 'N' Roll
    Runnin' Wild
Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast
    Diamond In The Rough
    Fat City
    Blackjack
    What's Eatin' You
    Girls In Black
    Cheap Wine & Cheaper Women
    Heartbreaker
    Let's Ride

These guys could well be around for a long time yet, the disc smokes. If you like AC/DC, The Angels or Rose Tattoo then you're missing out if you don't hear this disc.

Are they relations of Johnny O'Keeffe?
What is understood need not be discussed

You think so? I saw 'em here in L.A. back in February, and I was not impressed. Loud? Check. But it was the wrong kind of loud. The "we're going to turn the bass up so loud, you can't hear any possible shortcomings" kind of loud. Just a terrible mix.

What they DO have, however, is energy.
If it's BROWN, flush it DOWN.

Saw them here in Germany in June, and I can't say anything bad about the mix. Sounded good to me. And the energy was also there.
    I think they're awesome live!

In the UK they were making MASSIVE progress and on the way to becoming huge. Magazines all said the same thing "They sound just like AC/DC, but right now AC/DC haven't done an album in years or a tour either so we need a band like this". Unfortunately for Airbourne, no one cares about them here at all now that the real AC/DC turned up. Which is a shame, still a fun band.

    Default Airbourne Rocks!

I'm not sure if there is a thread for this yet...
But I love their first disc... They're like the new school AC/DC!

    It's a must have disc!
