Default April 17th 2007 date put to rest!

We have all been wondering what that date has stood for since it was put up on another site a couple months ago. I believe since the date does not represent what someone had thought it will be ok to say at this point. It was thought to be the beginning of the tour a couple months ago but with the info from William Morris agency saying it is a summer tour and not a spring tour I now believe that the date is no longer legit. Some confusion from the start on this date it could be also be that the person was told that the date is when tickets go onsale for the tour that remains to be seen. What I am certain of is the date DOES NOT mean new music! Anyone exspecting new music on that date you can now put that to bed NOT going to happen! That date had something to do with the tour only and as I stated I believe that date has now changed. Perhaps maybe ticket sales? No need for eveyone getting crazy hoping for a release of music, remember tour only. Andrew told us this back in October and it looks like he had it correct from the start. All this is based on William Morris saying summer tour not spring. But it never had to do with new music!

    Thanks Venom.

Anything on a solo cd coming? Or maybe this was shelved to prepare for the tour?

what is the mentality of no new tunes? Im wondering what goes into making a decision like that while making a decision to tour?

im fine with a tour, but i'd love something new.
maybe an album after the tour, if it goes well and Wolf is accepted and DLR pulls it off?
That'd be worth the wait, imo

    Hey Pert,

Probably so they don't kill one another when the egos collide.

The less interaction off the stage the better if this thing is going to actually come to fruition this time.

With every new "update" I'm losing interest. If it is indeed true that there will be no new music and a tour only, that speaks volumes to me. This is a cash grab only. They haven't done crap in a decade, and Ed says there are ten albums worth of material laying around..Whatever.

This is probably quite accurate (and also a wise decision), but the real reason I am guessing is that some kind of box set is coming in the next year or so, and they don't want to release anything too "close" to that main release.

I would think any songs they have worked up now may go on that box set. And maybe they want Wolf to have a Tour under his belt, before he starts to record.

I can live w/o "new" music if it's equal to the...(ahem) standards of the dreck from "Best Of Both Worlds". If "Me Wise Magic" was the end, it's a fine enough note to go out on.

    every CD and
    every tour by
    every artist

IS an attempted "cash grab"... (you are right it is a cash grab)... but so is every other...

I just hope the show is quality... I want a much better stage than 2004, I better drum kit etc etc... I hated that 2004 VH logo thingy.. that was silly... I want a massive stage they can run around on...

If there's no new music and the tour doesn't begin until the summer, what are they doing now? The word is that Dave is playing with the guys, if they aren't recording new material, are they rehearsing? If so, why would they be rehearsing in December for a tour that starts in the summer? Do they need 5-6 months to remember how to play Jamie's Cryin? Or is Dave not even there?

Something doesn't make sense to me.

I am losing interest in this debacle.

If they are trying to sell me a nostalgia tour without the nostalgia, I might pass.

If there is new material and that they are actually trying to be a band I will be in line for the tickets and the cd.

Yes, the management would be wise to forsee this inevitability in their crystal ball...

And because of this, I can feel the magic and chemistry on the stage now...

    Then why do it?
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett

If you heard any boots from '04, then you'd know Ed needs the practice. Not slamming Ed because he set the bar, IMO. But he certainly fell WAY short of his standards on that tour.
