    Default The Not Enough Video

I was watching the Best of Video hits yesturday night and my wife walked in right at the start of this video and stood there and watched the whole thing. when it was done she said that was just an incredible video. I've always felt that this video really captured the essence of the song. I don't want to debate wether this is van halen or not, that's just old. This video is incredible. How this song was not Huge is beyond me, this shows what a clown Ray Daniels was, Aerosmith released Don't want to miss a thing and that was gigantic, this is at least as good as that song. I don't care if people think I'm a pussy or not, this video is one of the bands best.

A great song with a great video!
Bobby Cohn: Who's going to be at Waynestock?
Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!
    Bobby: Who else?
    Garth: Uh, me...and...and Wayne...
    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?
Wayne: Uh, an old man fashioning a kayak out of a log?

I shall agree. I like how Ed is sitting on the ledge of the building with the cool amber quilt peavey wolfie prototype he had. Ah, good times... Excellent point about Ray Daniels. This truly should have been a huge ballad. Ray had no pull in the business and couldn't get it played across the country, which ultimately is how it works, that and Warner Brothers should have leveraged with other artisits on the Pop side to get the play and get behing Halen. They all dropped the ball including the band for not having better business savvy, but then again the last ten years speaks volumes with regard to there business sense. In fact the 2004 tour could have been huge, but was the most pathetic, half-ass marketing ever....Oh what could have been...

I've always liked that song. Eddies piano is right up there with some of his best guitar work, IMO.
1995 was the year it all went to hell!
After the Sam break-up, I remember reading into those lyrics and wondering if they somehow foretold the future somehow.

Hey dude..don't apologize...this song is incredible...and the video is top shelf. I have a good buddy who has worked in tv production for CNN in Atlanta and Hong Kong...he's a media and tv pro and he told me once that this video was some of the best produced stuff he's seen...i love it everytime i see and hear it...just like the first time...

That has got to be one of Ed's best solos he has ever done. And that "Annie" is one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen.

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.

I didn't quite get the vid but I did like seeing the guys play. I liked Edward's piano in this one as well as his guitar solo.

I thought it was especially cool how Mike,Ed and Al sing back up around the mic while Sam sings. Something about that little bit makes this video better.

Agree 100%. It should have been a huge success. The same goes for Can't stop lovin' you. Just a perfect song, ready to reach the top of the charts.

I agree, there must have been some big management mistakes.

I think it's really cool how the begining of the song is just piano and vocals. I remember reading an interview with Sam and Ed in guitar world-Sammy Drills Eddie where Sam interviews Ed and they talk about writing what I think is this song at the end of the RHRN tour. I think this was one of the last songs that they wrote before Ed Lefler died and everything went to hell. Too bad they didn't do more writing while on the road, I would have loved to hear more stuff like this...with this type of vibe on Balance. too bad keyboard songs in general take such a bad rap on this site.

I can understand chicks liking this mush but that's about it. These songs make the Partridge Family seem like Black Sabbath. The cure for insomnia.
