Yep. Even my old SoundDesign I had before my current turntable allowed me to switch it out.

Peter Frampton is one of my favorite guitar players of all time, and a super underrated one at that. When people talk about all of the old-school guitar gods, the most common names that always pop up are Beck, Page, Clapton, etc, but never Frampton. And in my estimation, Frampton smokes them all! And I'm not just talking about guitar playing, but songwriting as well. I've seen Frampton play live twice, once in 04, and again in 06, and he just totally blew me away both times. I swear, this guy only gets better with age. I'm going to see him again this July because he'll be in my neck of the woods again. If you have the chance to go see Peter Frampton live, don't miss him!

I've been listening to Frampton for a long time. Definitely an underrated guitarist and songwriter. He's playing Pier Six in Baltimore end of next month. I might have to check it out.

Default Frampton's '54 Les Paul Found

    Pretty amazing story.

Peter Frampton’s 1954 Les Paul Found in the Caribbean – After 32 Years!
    Andrew Vaughan
    |
    01.03.2012

A 1954 Gibson Les Paul that Peter Frampton played during his Humble Pie and solo days has been found after investigation by two Frampton fans. The guitar had been presumed lost in a 1980 cargo plane crash.

The Curaçao Tourist Board acquired the guitar and experts from Gibson Guitar confirmed it was, indeed, the missing guitar, long missing from Frampton’s collection.

Frampton was given the guitar in 1970 by a man named Mark Mariana at a Humble Pie gig at the Fillmore West. Frampton borrowed Mariana’s guitar for the show and afterward tried to buy it from him. “But to my surprise he said he couldn’t sell it to me – he wanted to give it to me!” he said.

Frampton played the guitar exclusively on Humble Pie’s Rock On and Rocking the Fillmore albums and his own seminal Frampton Comes Alive!, one of the top-selling live records of all time.

Frampton was recently reunited with the guitar in Nashville, Tennessee. He said: “I am still in a state of shock, first off, that the guitar even exists let alone, that it has been returned to me. I know I have my guitar back, but I will never forget the lives that were lost in this crash. I am so thankful for the efforts of those who made this possible… and now that it is back I am going insure it for 2 million dollars and it’s never going out of my sight again! It was always my #1 guitar and it will be reinstated there as soon as possible – some minor repairs are needed. And, I just can’t wait to get Mark Mariana on the phone.”

    I love this story.
I've been a big fan for years and had the chance to see him live again about a year and a half ago, and would go again in a heart beat.

He's out there still getting it done and all for the love of playing, and indeed his career has had a nice little bump in the last few years. with the Grammy wins and his proactive marketing on Twitter etc.

    Frampton rocks.
The Edge... there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Major bummer. Saw him open for Journey a few years ago. Really fine guitarist. Had Comes Alive on 8-track many moons ago. Doesn't get enough props. Hope his health holds.
