    Default Lyric help!

In the song "Girl Gone Bad" from 2:58 to 3:01, what the f*ck does Dave sing?!??!!? "These feet don't need my chalet and I'm callin' my name" is what I'm hearing. Anybody know the real lyrics?

I've always thought he said "just be glad you held her, don't fall in love." That's what I've heard for the past 20 years....I hope it's right because I've actually used it as inspiration when a relationship or two has gone bad!!

I always thought it was "On these streets of ashes...I don't call them my own..."

I'm sure I'm wrong, but what the hey...

I couln't dig up anything on Girl Gone Bad but I DID stumble upon this little gem of a site...pretty funny!

"20 minutes (late to work)? Shit. Last year I woke up three weeks too late.
My advice is to go for the alien abduction story. Look bemused, dishevelled and on the verge of tears as you recount your story of intrusive and degrading medical tests.
Worked for me anyway. I still have colleagues asking me what it is like to fuck a green womanoid with seventeen breasts.
Alternatively just walk in and inform everyone that alcoholism is indeed a disease and that they should be less judgemental and perhaps a little more supportive."

Hmmm....I still think my interpretation is probably correct. Considering the song is "Girl Gone Bad", it would make sense for him to say "...just be glad you held her, don't fall in love."

I've listened to it closely a couple of times today and I still think that's what I'm hearing. But, of course, I'm open to any other suggestions.

Threw my iPod on and cranked the volume up...Dave definitely says in the second part, "I don't call them my own"...in regards to the first part he says something about "these streets" but can't make out whatever it is.

That's a tough one. "just be glad you held her, don't fall in love" sounds pretty darn close to me. My ear/s are bad..."I listen to too much rock 'n' roll". What VH song is that from?

Good lyrical question. I never even had a guess for what he says in the first part, but I always thought the second part was "don't fall in love."
It feels somewhat reassuring that someone else hears the same thing I do.

Default Lyrics are posted at van-halen.com

    http://van-halen.com/newsite/1984_lyrics.html#ggb

I didn't check out Girl Gone Bad, and don't know who transcribed all the lyrics, but most VH songs are in there. I've refrenced it many times, trying to decipher DLR's "unique" writing. I can only assume the transcriptions are as accurate as they can be, since they're on the official site.
