Default We need a CVH reunion without DLR

After seeing the performances of Dave on TV this week, I don't see the point of a CVH reunion.

Dave's voice is shot when he tries to hit the high notes. He also doesn't or can't hold the melodies. He can't write anymore and hasn't for the last 10 years. The last decent tunes he wrote were on BOV1 in 1996.

He looks like a mattress salesman at your local sit and sleep store.

The only reason is to hear the mighty CVH catalog.

I say why not hire Ralph Saenz or any other DLR-clone from a tribute band. Because these guys are MORE like the CVH-era DLR than DLR himself these days. They sing better than him and look better. Even his personality has totally changed, with that fake smile he now sports. He is Mr David Roth now, not Diamond David Lee Roth. That person doesn't exist.

So it's a paradox, but to see the CVH line-up, u need a DLR clone, not DLR himself. Diamond Dave is gone forever. To really pay tribute to the awesome songs that make CVH so powerful, other singers would do a much better job than him.

Ed had some pretty rough patches on the last tour so maybe we could get an Ed clone from a tribute band as well.

Van Halen Links Members Meet at ARMBI Summit

    Tuesday, June 13, 2006; Posted: 2:15 p.m. EST (19:15 GMT)

Chicago, Illinois (CNN) – CNN has learned that Van Halen Links forum members have agreed to meet once again in Chicago this week to discuss the merits of a reunion of the classic 80's version of the rock act Van Halen. This year, the meeting is motivated by a desire to calmly discuss whether David Lee Roth is capable in the least to handle the demands of such a reunion.

Attendee's are optimistic, hoping to avoid the mixing of alcohol and strong opinions experienced at the same event a year earlier . . . .

Man are you asking for it...

Let's have the original lineup reunite w/out Dave? Insane to even think of it, let alone post it.

    hmmm.

I was thinking more along the lines of stealing some of DLR's DNA to create an exact duplicate of DLR......say circa 1982.

Man....what the hell is going on around here. Have I lost my patience or are the ideas just out there.

Classic VH...without Roth, but a look like from a tribute band.....how bad would that suck.
Actually I think most of us are Dave, Sam, and Mike fans. There's just a small group of people who have strange allegiances and like to get into petty pissing contests that I can't believe everyone on this site isn't bored of. - Brett
