    Myrtle Beach?

A bunch of us are heading down to Myrtle Beach this Thursday for 4 days to do some golfing and personally, I've never been to the area. Has anyone been to MB and if so is there a lot to offer as far as night life and how is the area as far the beach area?

We're staying at the Myrtle Beach Marriott Resort at Grande Dunes, so it's an ideal spot to begin with.

    Thanks!

A side note: We're actually checking out Pat Benatar at the House Of Blues Friday night!

Maybe we’ll give Dave a call and see what he’s up to.” - Edward Van Halen ~ 2009

Myrtle Beach is a great place! They have like 100 golf courses now. i used to go just about every year until the last couple.

The HOB is a great venue, I saw Hall & Oates there a fews years back and it was pretty cool.

I don;t know how much money you are willing to spend on golf, but one suggestion I would make is to play the M.B. National Golf Course, but make sure you play the "NORTH" course. Others I like are Possum Trot, Oyster Bay (just over the border in NC), I liked Azeala Sands and The Dunes.

Yes there is a ton of night life and Pu$$Y if you and your buddies are single.

For dinner try Greg Norman's Restaurant, Yamato Steak House, Rossi's (Italian), there are so many fucking restaurants there you won't know where to begin.

Ticket holders who dine at the House of Blues Resturant on the day of the show will be allowed to pass the line for the concert. Make sure you ask your waiter about it. I recommend the ribs also!!

Usta go every summer as a kid and up through highschool, at which point
I was over it. When I did return for the occaissional wedding or whatnot,
I discovered it to be the Land That Time Forgot. I shit you not, there was a
band doing Crazy Train with the synchronized hair swinging moves - in
    like, '97 - and they weren't kidding.

The water gets warm and the beaches are nice, but's it's Tourism and
Franchise City. So I dunno, if you're into 80s rock, tourist culture, golf
and TGI Fridays, it just might be heaven. I'm still over it.

I go there almost every year. Depending on how much you're looking to spend on golf, there are some unbelievable courses down there out of the 100s. Fortunately and coincidentally, you're staying at the best one IMO, Grande Dunes is a fantastic golf course. I also recommend you check out King's North at Myrtle Beach National, and International World Tour is very cool as well. That is 3-Nine Hole courses of replica holes of the most famous holes in golf, so you've got all 3 from Amen corner, #17 at Sawgrass, #1 & #18 from St. Andrews, etc. It's very cool, but also pricey. There's a big giant Nascar go-kart place, I've never been in there, but it looks like it might be pretty cool. Also, if you're up by HOB, which is in North Myrtle Beach I believe, there's a set of golf courses up there called Barefoot, designed by Dye, Greg Norman, Davis Love III, that are worth checking out. Have an awesome time.

I was down there working when H&O played, almost spent the thirty-something bucks to see 'em, but didn't. Next day on the local radio, the DJ said they were in and out in 90 minutes or so. Eh, life goes on.

Anybody got that old pic of Oates standing behind Ed (and maybe Val?) with the stupid look on his face? I know you old-timers know what I mean. I think Ed was wearing the old green jumpsuit....

Anyway, Myrtle has definitely gone overboard with the franchises and whatnot, but it's always been exactly what you make it. Good times abound. I wouldn't recommend a club called "Derriere's" (sic?) though.

    Ugh
    Myrtle Beach is tacky,
unless you go to north Myrtle Beach,
    it's really pretty there.
So you broke down, trying to leave town, I broke down crying on your return. You left me feeling hopeful, I'll never see your face again. You made for a bad lover's liver. You stole all the covers and busted my head. You made me such an asshole, I wish we'd never met. I'm tired of being bored. I'm through with the headaches. Its basically "Las Vegas By The Sea" and instead of casinos, they have golf courses and hookers are illegal.

Hookers are illegal in Las Vegas and all of Clark County. Only a few countys in Nevada have made prostition legal.
