Default Cab suggestion for my triple rec

    Hey guys,

I'm looking for some help finding a bitchin 4x12 to go with my Mesa rig. I'm currently running an 800 lead series with the rotten 75 watters, (not the typical 1960 70 or 75's). Basically my cab sounds sonically narrow, and a bit shrill.

I did try the greenback loaded Marshall cab but the low end was pretty muddy.

I play a pretty wide range of music, from classic 50's style all the way up to Killswitch Engage heavy. Any suggestions?

You can't go wrong with Marshall 1960 A&B cabinets IMO.
I run (2) 1960 A&B cabinets through my 5150 and it sounds pretty sweet.

Talk to Dave at Avatar. He makes excellent cabs inexpensively.

Also, if I were you, I'd try replacing some speakers.

Try taking out two of the G12-75s and putting in Vintage 30's or
G12H-30's by Celestion (arranged in an X pattern).

That will probably add some life to that cab.

Well mine is afficially a 1960a cab. It's the speakers that are bonk. I was thinking of loading it with vintage 30's.

See I don't think mine are the g12 75's, I'm pretty sure that they are 70's. I'll have to pull the back off again and have a look, but I remember that the last time I looked at them they wern't what you'd expect to find in a 1960s cab.

What do you think of vintage30's for all 4?

How about loading it with firecrackers and starting again.
And if you want to add life to that " bitchin 4x12 " I'd say mouth to mouth is the way to go.

I just picked up a Bogner Uberkab, and it sounds pretty amazing with all my amps (including the 1992 Dual Recto).

FYI, the tour starts in June. Hope to see you all out at some gigs!
