Default Do Those DVD/CD Player Cleaners With The Brushes Work

My Pioneer DVD Player is just skipping every single DVD that I try to play or won't even recognize a DVD in the player at all. I have seen those laser cleaners with the little brushes on them and was wondering if anyone has used them. Are they good or do nothing at all.

What methods would people here recommend to clean the laser on a DVD or CD Player. Does using the air in the can help? I would appreciate any tips, because right now my Pioneer DVD Player is useless.

You should use one for every 10-15 hours of use. It takes any dust off the laser lens.
