I have listened...he was funny at first but old very fast for me. He had the same few voices and that was it. I do admit that he has a ton of talent to pull off what he did though.

It's a brilliant show. Phil is a unique talent. His show is easily my favorite radio program. I've been listening since 1994 or so, and have never found anything else like it. Not everybody gets it, but there's no smarter show in entertainment. I'm going to miss it.

I've got a couple of years worth of shows collected. One of my favorites was when Dean Wheeler was whining about a soldier smoking a cigarette in a photo from Iraq. A guy named Bud, who was a Korean War vet called up to do the usual. Phil brought on Lloyd to back Bud up. Lloyd, of course, took things a bit further than Bud wanted them to go. Lots of talk about going over the hill with the medical supplies, greasing Dean up with Crisco and going to work on him, and Bud not wanting anyone to get a word in. Unbelievably good stuff!

Oh man, Loyd "I am a Korean War veteran" Bonifide, right?

On July 4th, Phil usually runs the bit about where Loyd strangled the neighbors French Poodle because he was upset with the French not backing us up in Iraq and the poodle, to Loyd, represented France. Loyd even drew a line in the dirt and "told" the poodle this is the line you don't cross.

Steve Bozell is always good, too. Back in 2000 he was trying to return all of his Y2K supplies. Sears would only give him half of what he paid for his generator, the neighborhood kids were teasing him about all of the bottled water, and Roy Hutchins came over to see what Steve was up to. When Roy noticed all of the KY Jelly, he asked Steve about it. Steve explained that when civilization collapsed he wanted to be ready--ready for the rape gangs. Who wants it to hurt when they catch you, right?

    Steve's gonna sue!

Yeah, Steve Bozell, poster boy for tort reform.

Once Steve was at a chili cook-off and someone gave him a chili sample made with habanero peppers. Steve's story was that he sustained 2nd degree burns to his "sphincter area" and was going to sue the guy that gave him the chili for assault. I'm sure he lost that one.

They took him off our (SLC's) airwaves about a year and a half ago. I really miss listening to his show. I was a regular listener for a few years there and love that guy. Well, at least I have a shitload of his "Best Of" compilations on cd. Some of the things he did used to make me laugh so friggin' hard that I'd literally have to pull my car over on the way home from work cos I'd be laughing so hysterically.

Too bad he's retiring cos he's beyond stellar.

Some of my favorites were Vernon Dozier (the one where he used shock treatment on some mentally retarded guy named "Bobby" while training him for airport security) and this other one where Vernon was masterbating while watching videos of explosions, Bobbi Dooley, Lloyd Bonafide, The Citizens Auxiliary Police, Ted Bell, Dean Wheeler (one where he was arguing with the groundskeeper from a golf course) and R.C. Collins (calling condoms, "comduns.")

    Sick but absolutely brilliant stuff.
