    Van Halen III (limited edition)

Just back from my favorite used CD store and guess what I found? A copy of Van Halen III (limited editon) in the metal box. It was still in the shrink wrap and you could tell it was never opened. I opened it and everything inside is brand new and the CD was never played. Is this a collectible item? If it's not, it's still a cool thing to have.

oh man i bought this brand new as well from a used cd store years ago. unfortunately i destroyed the guitar pick because frankly it is poor quality, however i still have it.

wasnt this limited to 5,000 or 50,000 copies? i think 5,000? if so me and you rock for having it!

I've got a copy of it, the band even autographed it at a meet & greet...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

I really don't think this has any value with the exception of the few fans that accept it as an album that's worth having...which...well...there truly aren't very many...

    wow was that post hard...

I believe it was issued in limited numbers when III first was released...i've got a copy as well...i'd be hanging onto it...they've got value for sure...don't pay any attention to the III naysayers...
...and in the end, on dreams we will depend...

    I have it too.
I also have those "limited edition" tins from the Sammy Balance Days.

    Yeah...ignore those naysayers...

I mean...a tin that you found unopened...for probably 3 bucks is surely worth...well...3 bucks...

c'mon...other than personal value...the thing is worthless...

Sad that we have to continually remind fans like you that there is more to the band than DLR and the years 1978-1984...

Yep, all the editions are limited, not just the tin can one with the pretty pink guitar pick and the neato circus trading cards.

I got this limited edition CD.
It has a pink guitar pick. And the cards are nice.
