    Weezer copying VH?

I saw Weezer's "Beverly Hills" video on TV this morning. At the end all the people making the "W" gesture with their hands. It reminds of the VH hand gesture from "Live Without A Net". Besides that, their logo looks similar to the VH logo. Do you think Weezer copied VH or is just a fan?

The singer and main songwrite...forgot his name used to be a cheese metal guitarist in the late 80's early 90's.

He probably was a huge VH fan like a lot of people at that time.

I think there's a mag cover where Rivers Cuomo is wearing a VH shirt or he's got a red-striped guitar or something like that.

He's also a KISS fan and has the Ace Frehley lightning-bolt guitar strap as part of his gear.

It's a Guitar World mag, and he is using a KRAMER STRIPED GUITAR with a cigarette on the neck!!! pretty cool

Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer/guitarist is an ex shredder and he was very good at it. He was and still is a fan of VH, Malmsteen and other guitar greats. If you look for it you can find songs from his old band floating around. They sounded like Dokken and Rivers was an amazing shredder. He doesn't do anything close to that kind of shredding in Weezer. He still does very neat solos and riffs. IMO Rivers is an amazing guitarist and is a very underrated musician. I'm not to hot on their latest album though...

The story behind that guitar world mag is that Rivers was supposed to come down for a photo shoot but he made the guitar world peeps come to his hotel room for the shoot and interview and he put on a malmsteen shirt and busted out his Kramer. He is kind of an eccentric guy (like most greats).

Nice story. I like most of Weezer's record and I respect Rivers a lot for being a great =VH= fan.
