Yeah they do here too every now and then. Even on the new and supposedly metal rock station that plays nothing but new crap.

Always nice to hear the boys.

Of course, I'm a bit spoiled with the VH b-day blocks on the Scum now.

Wow, consider yourself lucky, the boys get played here, but not nearly enough, and when they do, it is always the same ol' same ol'. It pretty much is always, Jump, Panama, RWTD, JC, and maybe DTNA, thats it. Heaven forbid they play some DOA or Meanstreet or DDL. What do you call a hundred program directors at the bottom of the ocean...a good start!! I know the PD's are only doing their job, but damn.....radio sucks!!

I tend to only hear a fairly set number of choices here in SoCal - I really need to upgrade to Sirius in my truck, I think.

It's always one of the following from Dave, and rarely if ever anything else:

    RWTD
    Jump
    DTNA
    Beautiful Girls
    Panama
    Unchained
    Hot for Teacher
    YRGM
    ATBL

And it's always one of the following from Sam, rarely if ever anything else:

    WCTBL
    Dreams
    Poundcake
    Right Now

They seem to play a lot more Sammy solo tunes than Van Hagar proper tunes in SoCal.

I pretty much gave up on the local radio around here. It's gotta be the Scum or my own stuff. I'm too spoiled with no commercials and kick-ass tuneage.

btw - love the PD joke.

Here in Hamilton, ON, they blew me away last weekend when they played Little Guitars and Black and Blue.

We get a fair amount of VH on the east coast of Canada. Mostly Dave stuff, althought It's About Time has remained fairly prominent. They do play Why Can't This Be Love maybe once a year.

We have an awesome classic rock station. There are several of the jocks that LOVE VH especially CVH. They play probably 5 tunes through the day and the request hour from 1-2:00 someone always requests a VH tune. They played Take Your Whiskey Home just this week. Thinking I should request In A Simple Rhyme today.

I live in Central CT so we get music stations from Hartford, New Halen and Springfield. Van Halen is a staple in these markets.

In Detroit there are 2 pretty good rock stations. Back in 97 when I worked nights I actually counted how many VH tunes they played for a week and then divided that by the number of hours I worked, it worked out to be 1.25 an hour and that was only for one station.

During the reunion tour they had a few weekends where it was nothing but VH all weekend long and one of the stations has Cabo Wabo Radio every once in awhile, they just had it last weekend, I think. Sammy intro's a bunch of songs and they play a ton of VH and sammy.

Now they play a ton of stuff between the 2 stations from both era's you can pretty much hear RWTD, YRGM, JC, DTNA, EWS, Unchained, Mean Streets, Pretty Woman, DDL, Jump, Panama, HFT, WCTBL, Dreams, Summer Nights, BOBW, FWYS, BNB, feels so good, poundcake, right now, TOTW, Runaround, CSLY and maybe a little love walks in and when it's love on a good day. Just the other day I heard don't tell me so VH is still huge in Detroit. Sammy sells out every time, VH sold a shit load of tickets last time they came around...

the fans are there, to bad the band isn't
