Default Eddie Van Halen influenced by Daryl Hall & John Oates

Here's a quote from Daryl Hall in a recent interview from Mix Magazine in the UK:

Recording Notes: HALL & OATES' I CAN'T GO FOR THAT (NO CAN DO)
    By Gary Eskow
    Apr 1 2006
    Mix magazine
“No question about it,” Hall agrees. “Michael Jackson once said directly to me that he hoped I didn't mind that he copped that groove. That's okay; it's something we all do. [Eddie] Van Halen told me that he copied the synth part from ‘Kiss on My List’ and used it in ‘Jump.’ I don't have a problem with that at all.

Very cool find VHF! I see H & O everytime they are in town. They are two really talented and underrated musicians / songwriters.

Never heard of that before, too.

    Thanks for sharing.

Wow! I am surprised by the positivie responses. Just a little info-the guys in the Hall & Oates band now are-T-Bone Wolk-bass, Jeff Catania-Lead guitar, Charlie DeChant-Saxophone, Eliot Lewis-Keyboards, Mike Braun on drums.

Jeff Catania in a recent interview stated that Eddie Van Halen is one of his biggest influences and Van Halen 1 is one of his favorite albums.

H&O have their own label U-Watch Records and has released two albums-Do It For Love in 2003 and Our Kind of Soul-Philly soul covers with 3 origininals in late 2004.

They also do Instant Live when they are on tour. They sound better than they did 20 years ago!

Dreams' keyboard riff when it kicks in sounds similar to Kiss on My List.
