    Poison Singer Shot at Again
    From cbs2chicago.com:

It seems weird that anyone would be out to get Poison frontman Bret Michaels, but the rocker is understandably nervous after two recent shooting incidents.

The singer's Mercedes took a bullet last Thursday from an unknown shooter in the parking lot of Los Angeles radio station where Michaels was headed for an appearance.

His publicist told the New York Post Michaels is concerned because a similar incident happened in Springfield, Mass. several months ago.

''We're taking this seriously. We'd like to think it was random, but....both times [this happened] at publicized events.''

Naa, seems like it's been 20 years since MTV played videos... Pretty soon MTV will be able to have a first year Real World anniversary special series; The Real AARP World with that cast...

    Yeah mTV really sucks nowadays.

They really need to re-think that channel ID thingy - for serious.

They stopped being about music a LONG time ago. But at least we remember what it started out as from those first videos way back when. Well at least I do (kinda). It was pretty kewl when it first started out, had a lotta potential.

    What the eff happened?

I saw Poison twice, once on my birthday in April of '86 with ex-Hanoi Rocks members new band Cherry Bombz opening at the Country Club in Reseda a few months before Poison's first album came out, CA and once in '91 on NYE at the Long Beach arena. Both shows were pretty fucking lame.

At the Country Club show, my buddy and I went really to see the Cherry Bombz because we used to like Hanoi Rocks. By the time Poison came on, we were pretty drunk and hung out on the balcony throwing paper airplanes made from tons of other band's flyers at the band like dumb kids. They were so derivitive of Motley Crue and Van Halen, we got progressively more pissed and moved on to throwing chunks of ice from our drinks and would up getting thrown out when my buddy hit the guitarist with a big piece.

My girlfriend who had almost no taste in music *had* to see them when they did the New Years Eve show a few years later in Long Beach with Warrant(agh!) so I got stuck seeing them again. Poison was so pathetic, they finished their show about 15 minutes *before* midnight so everyone was leaving the arena at midnight "celebrating" the stroke of 12:00 while walking to their cars.

I watched a short private concert the boys did on VH1 Classic last weekend and as I have always thought, that band is being kept down by CC Deville.
Give them a guitar player that can be melodic and rip it as well and they'll be better.
Say if they had a Vai, Satriani, or God forbid EVH.

I have the new "Best Of" collection. Even if you already have the other Poison discs (including the 1996 "Greatest Hits" collection), the new cover of "We're An American Band" alone makes this collection worth purchasing! I love it! I wonder if they've filmed a music video for it! And I don't know who want to kill Bret Michaels. The guy who tried to kill him's probably this moronic grunge fan, and I hope they find the bastard tried to kill Bret and throw him in the slammer.
