Default "Sam I Am" vs. "It's About Time"

Here in SoCal, it seems that "Sam I Am," Sammy's new single, is getting more airplay than "It's About Time." Anyone else notice this in other parts of the country?
Surprising. I think IAT is a superior song, but radio these days...

It's getting quite a bit of radio play here in East Tennessee.

I heard It's About Time 6 times on the day of it's debut on the radio. I had to download Sam I Am. Enuff said. I love SIA tho. It's a cool song.

Indy radio sucks for anything modern. You have X-103 for the "alternative" and you have Q95 for rock, but they only seem to play music up to the early to mid 90's, nothing new.

I never heard IAT on the radio period. I just d/l'ed until the cd came out. Same with SIA. Of course, right now I don't really listen to the radio much at all anymore so I guess there's a small chance it's been played, but I don't know.

That's because IAT was sent to radio stations as a "CD-single" to be played on the air. SIA was sent to (some) stations as an (low-quality) MP3.

Sam I Am is a better song IMO, it should be getting more airplay. IAT was just bad, like Ed was trying to stuff ten years of ideas into one song.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Q95 played IAT a bunch for about a week, then it went away.

Haven't heard SIA is it's entirety yet, but it seems to be a solid tune. IAT however is a whomp-ass song for me.

I really have to agree. I can't stand this song, the lyrics are awful and it flows like a dammed river.

Yep. the reason for me is, in the lyrics he's basically saying this is me, this is the real sam.... and he does it in the form of a country rock tune.
I just don't get it I even tried to listen to it again and tell myself it's not that countrified. I like how it starts, then it goes downhill once it hits the course. His lyrics would have been alot more believable if he wrote a song true to what he is- a rock n'roll guy, not a country tune with his buddy Toby.
