    Default Las Vegas 1984

so what is the deal with this footage compared to the only other show, the montreal show out there. i thought it was super rare and have barely seen anyone mention it or have seen it on trader sites and what not.
how did this get circulated just in the last year and not before hand?
someone must have been hoarding this goodie.

The quality is way low. Montreal looks like a pro shot compared to Vegas. It only has about half the show also. I'm still glad I bought it cus 84 was the best tour in the history of this planet but don't get your hopes up. Hard core fans only on this one.

I hope you didn't pay $$$ for Vegas 84. FYI you can get it for free via download or trade from www.jamtothis.com or www.vhtrading.com

It is pretty interesting how new sources will surface 20+ years after the show. Most of these are only traded amongst a few traders and are hoarded from the general public. I think with technology, the ability to share easily has made more sources available.

The BEST thing from the 84 tour is H4T from Donnington, UK. It is only 1 song, but it is ProShot from the Whitsle Stop TV show.

Most believe that LARGO, MD 84 Proshot is in the vault at 5150.

I would also say that the 84 tour is the most boring out of the 6 Tours with Dave IMO. I would rather take a 81 FW show anyday of the week.

Here is what is available right now on DVD:

    "California 1978-1979" 1 DVD
    Memphis 9/2/81 amateur 1 DVD
Largo, MD pro-shot 10/12/82 (BTB Productions) 2 DVD
Montreal 10/27/82 "Floor 'em at the Forum"
xx/xx/83 "South American Highlights" (BTB Productions) 1 DVD
    Caracas 1/16/83 pro-shot (BTB Productions 60 min.) 1 DVD
Sao Paulo 1/21/83 pro shot (BTB Productions remastered) 2 DVD
Buenos Aires 2/11/83 pro-shot (BTB Productions) 1 DVD
Buenos Aires 2/11/83 pro-shot (jammybastard productions) 1 DVD
Devore, CA 5/29/83 "U.S. Festival 20th Anniversary Edition" pro-shot (BTB Productions) 2 DVD
    Devore, CA 5/29/83 "Old No. 7" pro-shot 2 DVD
Montreal 4/19/84 "Scorin' At The Forum"
    Las Vegas 5/15/84 (40 min.) / Chicago 7/10-7/11/81 (10 min.) / Boston 5/14/79 (15 min.) all amateur (OSKY Productions) 1 DVD
Leicestershire, England 8/18/84 low-gen amateur (OSKY Productions) 1 DVD

"625/50--The PAL Rarities" (OSKY Productions) 1 DVD (Disc 1/2)
"Eruption! The Van Halen Media Collection 1977-1985" (Hard 1 Video) 1 DVD
"Napalm Up Yo' Ass" (Cato) 1 DVD
"Rage, Red & More" (BTB Productions) 1 DVD (Disc 1/2)
"Rape of the Vaults Pt. I" (Rat Bastard) 1 DVD
"Rape of the Vaults Pt. II" (Rat Bastard) 1 DVD
"Roth Rarities" (OSKY Productions) 2 DVD
"The Van Halen Story: The Early Years" (Passport Video) 1 DVD

Nope the footage isnt super rare anymore and hasnt been since I helped liberate it 2 years ago. It was purchased by another trader in Italy back in 2003 and passed onto me to re-master it. The footage was in pretty bad shape, I colour corrected it, re-synced a lip-sync problem and fixed the picture geometry (everyone looked fat & squashed). Even with the re-mastering the quality isnt great, Montreal 84 (DR version) is heaps better, but considering how little is available from that tour its still worth having. I then got a friend of mine to make the PC menus. As soon as it was ready I treed it out at vhtrading spring 2004, so its pretty well distributed by now. I certainly didnt hoard it, I hate hoarding! The 40 or so mins I put out is all I have. Hope you didnt pay for it either bro! Free trade only!

There is a version of the audience Donnington boot that I re-mastered where the colour is OK, but it is shot from so far back it is a real die-hards collectors item only. The BBC footage from Donnington is pretty good and available on Osky Prods 625/50 PAL Rarities disc 1 straight from my VHS master recorded off the TV in 1984..... but its only HFT and an interview.

Yes, they came out of nowhere, who wouldn't take Oakland 81 or if it exists something from WACF
Nice call on the Largo 2 disc set not the 1 as many out there have the 1 disc version only
