Yeah, I went to the Beacon run for years, so many great shows. The show I liked the best was when Dickey Betts was still in the band and Jack Pearson was the 2nd guitarist. Jack is amazing and so underrated. Jack has a lot of great moments captured on the All My Friends: Celebrating The Songs And Voice Of Gregg Allman CD/DVD.

The Allman Betts Band Announce Debut Album, ‘Down to the River’

The outfit, featuring the sons of Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts, will join John Fogerty on tour for select summer dates.

The Allman Betts Band, featuring Devon Allman, son of Gregg Allman, and Duane Betts, son of Dickey Betts, have announced their debut album, Down to the River. The effort will be released June 28 via BMG.

Down to the River was recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and was produced by Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price, John Prine, Elvis Presley).

Alongside Allman and Betts, the band features Berry Oakley Jr. (son of original Allman Brothers Band bassist Berry Oakley), slide guitarist Johnny Stachela, keyboardist John Ginty and percussionists R. Scott Bryan (Sheryl Crow) and John Lum, both of whom also play with Allman in the Devon Allman Project. The album also features special appearances by Peter Levin (Gregg Allman's Hammond B3 player) and Chuck Leavell (former Allman Brothers Band and current Rolling Stones keyboardist).

In addition to their own headlining tour, the Allman Betts Band will join John Fogerty on the road for select dates this summer in the Northeast, including stops in Providence, Portland, ME, Boston and New York City.

Said Betts: “Anytime you get to play with your heroes it’s a dream come true, but John Fogerty, that’s pretty special. We are beyond honored to share the stage with him on these upcoming dates."

Added Allman: “As a longtime fan of CCR, I’m so amped up to do some shows with one of the best voices in rock music.”

In a recent interview with Guitar World, Allman said about forming the new ABB, “It just struck me that it was time for Duane and me to work together, which we’d been talking about for a few years. I knew it would make the fans happy and I thought it would be good for us as well.”

You can check out the full Allman Betts Band tour itinerary below.

Default The Allman Brothers Band / Trouble No More: 50th Anniversary Collection

    from superdeluxeedition.com:

January 15, 2020 by Paul Sinclair

    10LP or 5CD career-spanning box sets available

Universal Music will release a 50th anniversary Allman Brothers Band box set in February. Trouble No More – named after the Muddy Waters song the band first jammed to – will be available as a five-CD package or an extravagant 10LP box set.

The boxset was produced by Allman Brothers historians and aficionados Bill Levenson, John Lynskey and Kirk West and both CD and vinyl sets take a thematic overview of the various stages of the band’s recording and performance history (full track listings below).

The 10LP vinyl box is incredibly expensive, but does package the five gatefold vinyl sets in a “wood veneer wrapped slipcase with gold graphics” and it includes an 56-page large format book.

The five-CD version includes an 88-page booklet and comes as a 12-panel ‘softpack’ with a slipcase. Both formats contain an 8,900 word essay on the 50-year history of the band by John Lynskey, unreleased band photos along with newly shot photos of memorabilia and a recap of the 13 incarnations of the band line-up.

Trouble No More: 50th Anniversary Collection is released on 28 February 2020.

That's about the same time I stopped going to ABB shows. Maybe a few years before 09. They where doing weird stuff including horns and sax players on stage. Bye bye .
