Default so who was the best "hair band" guitar player?

Ok, I don't play guitar but I love the instrument, I've been listening to alot of stuff from the late 80's and early-pre grunge-90's so I figured I'd ask this question:

    Who's the best hair-metal guitarist?

just judgeing by my ears these are the guys I think are standouts:

Vito Bratta-Love his tone, sounded to me like he played alot like Eddie, I heard he can't play anymore or something like that, that's a shame this guy rocks. Love the solo from "leave me alone" from Mane Attraction.

REb Beach-Say what you want about Winger, this guy is pretty damn good to me...I love everything this guy plays on the first winger disk, the second one has some really cool stuff, check out "Baptized by fire" and "you are the saint I am the sinner"

Nunu Bettencourt-outstanding, I love alot of his stuff.

    George Lynch-Mr. Scary-nuff said

Steve Vai-Not sure if he qualifies for hair metal status or not...

Paul Gilbert-the 2nd Mr. Big CD is outstanding from start to finish.

let me know what you think, i'm interested in what an actual guitar player has to say about this.

Great list... When I saw the thread title I immediately thought: Nuno, Beach, Lynch...

I've always felt Carlos Cavaso (Quiet Riot) was underrated..

Marc Diglio of little known XYZ was the shit..

Jason Becker was insane back then. I feel guilty lumping him in with the hair metal guys though.

When I fisrt read the title of this thread, Paul Gilbert was the guy that came to mind, but I'd have to agree with you on just about all your points...

Yeah, that's them.. Great debut album. I think they came out a little too late to ever make it.

George Lynch is the man, and the first Lynch Mob album "Wicked Sensation" is an unheralded gem. HIGHLY recommend it if you've never heard it, nothing like Dokken.
