Proof that Van Halen did open for Bon Jovi

Here is the link to all the shows VH opened for Bon Jovi. Scroll down to 1995 (Crossroad - These Days Tour).

A sad year it was for VH fans.

On that 'Get Back' cover Eddie was on in 1995... Wasn't he playing with Jon Bon Jovi, Melissa Etheridge and others?

There was a brief interview with Ed in one of the old 'The Inside' magazines about this. Ed didn't make a big deal about opening for Bon Jovi and said he and Jon were friends since they shared a house in Malibu and it was all about the show for the audience, whether or not who was headlining. He also adds the reason it took them over 10 years to tour Europe again was because of Sammy's "contractual bullshit" commitments for his solo career.

Wayne Campbell: Um, uh...Aerosmith & Pearl Jam!
Garth Algar: Ha ha ha ha ho!

    Wayne: ...and uh...VAN HALEN!!!
Garth: Wow. Van Halen. Who else?
    Bobby: Yeah, who else?

Sam also said in his lost book excerpts that VH would be disturbed how no one was at the shows for them, and no one really knew who they were. Ed would be pissed to see signs that would say "We Love JON" with NO VH signs whatsoever. Ed had to cut his solos to 1 minute for the last two weeks in Europe because people didnt care. That caused Eddie to go into a very deep depression at the time. It was a hard time for the guys. That didnt stop the guys from continuing their best tour ever, IMO. Still an interesting fact I figured Id share.

Next to Van Halen, Bon Jovi is my second favorite band. I wouldve LOVED to see the concert!

The Wembley Show was officially taped and released by Bon Jovi. You'd hope there's still some footage of Van Halen's part lurking around.

It's their own damn fault that no one knew who VH was. Sure VH toured Europe back in '84, but after that it was slim to none. They should have been touring Europe hard and heavy every tour. They lost their young fan base over in Europe. That's why bands like Bon Jovi, AC/DC, U2, the Stones and dare I say it.....Coldplay are so popular and sell out stadiums all around the world to this day...WHY???....because they tour everywhere. I never understood how a band can claim to be on a "World Tour" when they never even leave North America?

They did Europe in 1984, then they went 1986-1992 in America only (with some Japan). Now, of course that's their own fault. They could've done a HUGE tour of Europe in 1986, which could've made them more popular than they already were, and at the time they were America's greatest rock band! Its their fault, and I bet Ed, Al, Mike, and Sam knew that when they returned to America in July of 1995. Thats why they didnt go in 2004. Not that they would've lasted that long in the first place.

Oh, yeah. I picked up Mercury's limited released Crossroad box set from last year for Bon Jovi for only $22 at Best Buy. Disc 1 contains the original Crossroad (with Prayer '94 replaced by "In These Arms" and "Never Say Goodbye" added in as a bonus track), a second disc of rarites and B-Sides, and the third disc was the "Live In London" DVD. Best I've ever seen Bon Jovi perform. The only reason I'd bring up the London show is because, I believe it was the same night when VH recorded their London FM show (The songs featured off the "Rocks The Beer Hall" boot). Both were recorded on 6/24/95, correct?

Man, if it was, I wonder where that video of Van Halen's performance is!
