The most remarkable band for each reason ...

Wishbone ash becouse they are the first to use twin-guitars (i don't know if it's the right translation in english .. sorry)
After them only Thin Lizzy used it in the 70s.

Not really in any particular order but the band that had the biggest impact on rock are IMOÖ.

    1. The Beatles Ė THE most important band in rock history. Period. Ask anyone the most important moment in rock and roll history and they will most likely say either ďThe Beatles on Ed SullivanĒ or ďThe Beatles coming to AmericaĒ. They brought rock and roll into every home in America. There is almost nothing in rock that the Beatles didnít do first. St. Peppers was arguably one of the first progressive rock albums ever. They were the first rock stars, in the way we think of rock stars today. When a musician, even today, is asked about their influences, The Beatles are pretty much a given.

    2. Jimi Hendrix Ė He showed the world what the guitar could do and what you could say without uttering a word. If you donít appreciate the work of Jimi Hendrix, you donít know shit and should sell all your records because you donít deserve to listen to music.

    3. Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne Ė The band that created a genre. The first heavy metal band and the yardstick every metal band measures themselves against. Now, let me clarify before everyone jumps on my case about listing Ozzy specifically. Ozzy helped create metal with Sabbath. He expanded the concept of metal and brought it to a new level of musicianship and energy with Blizzard of Ozz, and kept it from dying with Ozzfest. He is the single most important figure in metal history. No matter what you think of his wife, kids or actions, you can not deny his impact.

    4. Led Zeppelin- The first super-group. Now Iíve never been a huge Zeppelin fan in the sense that most hardcore Zeppelin fans are insane, hopeless, die with your boots on, rabid fans. The fact that their fan base is still so loyal and so large speaks to the impact they had. I donít care of you listen to hip-hop, rock, metal, new-age, pop, classical, country, blues or jazzÖ.you KNOW a Zeppelin song or two. Their music is timeless and is still relevant to todayís music scene.

    5. Pink Floyd Ė The ART of sound. Music that could hang in a museum. Pink Floyd is the reason music like U2ís works. The first rock band that forced you to think. A soundtrack to the human experience. Like all good art, itís so emotional, you canít help but get sucked in and relate it to your life, your thoughts, your emotions, your failures, your history. They gave rock music credibility as a form of expression.

    6. Van Halen Ė When your average Joe thinks of Rock and Roll. They think of loud music, slamming guitar solos, a rhythm that makes your feet move, partying and getting laid. Has ANY band encapsulated all of these things more than Van Halen? Van Halen didnít create the genre, but they took it to a place that left every other band struggling to catch up. Eddie made you want to be a musician and Roth made you want to be a rock star. Even towards the end of the eighties, guitar players were still trying to reach the level of playing that Eddie did a decade earlier. Eddie Van Halen, to this day, is the guitars players, guitar player.

    7. The Sex Pistols Ė One album, and weíre still talking about them. Thatís rock and roll right there.

    8. Nirvana Ė I hate this band so much I canít even express it. However, you canít talk about this subject without bringing them up. They changed the game. The changing of the guard. Letís face it, rock had gotten stale and boring, somebody had to put it out of itís misery, why not Nirvana? Cobain was the voice of a generation. He made millions of bad poets into bad musicians.

    9. Kings X- The most respected band working today. They have the musicianship, the vocal harmonies, and are influential as hell. Any musician worth a damn will tell you that these guys are legends who never got the recognition they rightly deserve. IMO, the real U2. If you donít believe me, ask around, their impact is far reaching and profound.

    10. Rush Ė Progressive rock at itís finest. Pink Floyd with balls. The band that makes a great musicians jaw drop. Like a fine wine, itís distinct flavor might not be anything special to some, but those who get it, love it and feel bad for those who donít know what theyíre missing.

11.The Rolling Stones Ė Pretty obvious and I donít know why I didnít think of them earlier. I could go on about them but why bother? If you donít know, get yourself a copy of Beggars Banquet and youíll understand.

12ÖÖI reserve this space for anyone but The Verve Pipe. Because they suck in way's that would make a porn star blush.

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, ďTokyo Dome In Concert,Ē is available for purchase, and itís super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

First off, The Doors may have been hero's to a lot of people but they never did shit for me. Outside of Jim Morrison writing the worst "profound" lyrics of all time, they're a footnote at best IMO. Nothing revolutionary, nothing midblowing.

Now as far as Ozzy goes...

    Randy Rhoads
    Zakk Wylde
The man made rock dangerous. The reason parents didn't want their kids listening to "that devil music."

Don't get me wrong Maiden, Sabbath, Priest and Motorhead are the four corners of metal. All well deserving of recognition. But come on man! Ozzy is metal. To this there is no argument. Ozzy never struggled to keep up with anybody. He's the pace car.
