    Default need tv repair advice

    i have an 12 year old sony trinitron 27" in a repair shop. they told me it woulc cost $145 for repair. i really dont have to have the tv. i can buy a new one or go without. if i buy a new one i am on a strict budget. when i bought the sony new it cost me about $700. would you guys bother fixing it or what.

    I would just go for a HD TV, there are amazing!

    But I know you donít have much money so I guess itís kind of up to you.

    yeah.... i want hd but it is completely out of the question. i just had to buy a new 32" to replace this one about a year ago.
    this tv will be in my "playroom" when i get my FROG done.

    Scrap it. Very few TVs are worth fixing. A 12 year old triniton is not one of them.

    Just go buy a new TV. In our shop with have a older 50''Sony Trinitron, we spend $200 to have it fixed a couple of years ago. Its never been the same, something seems to always go wrong with it. The repair guys said he can fix it but its old and going to continue to break.

    Scrap it and go without it like you suggested. And, if you change your mind and you can't go without it. Buy. Don't fix the oldie.

    These days electronics aren't worth fixing. Just buy new.
