Default New "EVH" MXR Flanger by Jim Dunlop

Does anyone know more about this new pedal and what the "evh" switch does? When it will be available?

The EVH switch defaults to the "Unchained" swoosh setting.

    Should be pretty cool.

    Interesting. Hadn't seen that before.

Boy, Eddie's really cashing in on his name and image. Between the red-striped MXR, this new white-striped MXR, and the Charvel series of striped replica's, it seems someone got in his head about how he can market himself.

Not saying it's good or bad, it's just something I'm not used to. It's kind of like he feels he's a thing of the past and he's trying to keep his name in front of people.

Personally, I have no problem with it.

I have no problem with it either. I LIKE things that have his name on them, so long as they sound great.

I love the Phaser, and I didn't mind shelling out a few extra bucks for the badass paint job, blue LED, and modern/script switch.

I'm sure the flanger is cool too. Nothing I'd buy if I already had a flanger, but since I don't anymore.......

I'm sure the pedel will be cool and of good quality as it is a Jim Dunlop. I havn't used or owned a jim dunlop before as I have only owned a BOSS, but i'm sure these are great products.

I hope Ed releases a Wah pedal....probably in the Black and yellow stripes so all three pedals would match the charvel guitar series.

    You know-
If Ed really wanted to push it, MXR could always release a pedal that gives you the brown sound...THAT would be a big deal-Red43j

Eddie must think I'm a BOZO to want to drop THAT much on one of his new Charvel Guitars!

Lol... Excellent point. But I think you'd have a better chance of finding Robert Johnson's 30th song.

Should be good. As far as I understand it the F/W era flanger was the mxr that you plug into the wall. I had that one as well as the newer battery/wall wort one and the plug-in one sounded better but was noisier than fuck. Hopefully this new one sounds like the old ones without the noise.

You know I totally agree with you, Ed deserves some money from his name/trademark/ ideas, no argueing on that. However, the timing of all this... I"m 36 years old and my teen years are long over and I played guitar in a band in the 80's and 90's and man if this stuff would've just come out 20 years ago!!!! I had to make do with crap to get that unchained sound. It's all fantastic and would love to own it all but all I do is sit on the bed and play guitar now and these prices i'ts not worth it. He would've made alot more money back when my generation still played heavey metal.

I guess I'm really just trying to say that even though I really do love this stuff Ed is coming out with, the prices really when you look at it isn't that far off of average stuff even from 20 years ago. But man if the charvel and pedals would've just come out between 1984 - 1990.... Think of how much more of an impact all this stuff would've made on all our cover band eras?

I think he was afraid of letting the cat out of the bag. He seemed pretty protective of what he used and how he used it. I think he realized that it was a lot of the little things that seperated him from the pack of the day.

I've got one of the old plug in one's (no wall wart, just regular three prong plug) and it's always sounded great but it's REALLY worn out and not very reliable anymore, so I'll definitely be upgrading. That thing is just TOO KEWL...

You're right. That is one sweet looking pedal!

You just know there needs to be one more EVH pedal.....a nice yellow and black one.

Yep. He's prolly got one in the works but what do you think it might be? Some super-kewl analog delay or something?
