Wasn't that one of the songs they were working on for the follow-up to III?

Celibate is a TRIBE OF JUDAH track & can be found on the Exit Elvis album.

The track names released for the never to eventuate follow up to Van Halen III included...

    Left For Dead
    River Wide
    Say Uncle
    You Wear It Well
    Rock And Roll Cliche'
    I Want Her Anyway
    More Than Yesterday
    Love Again
    Miss You Much

“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

The Inside: What's the direction of the next record?

Gary Cherone: We've been writing since day one and we've got a bunch of stuff. I don't know where we are going with it, but if some people think this record was eclectic then...we're going from "From Afar" and beyond. We have this one song that's got this theatrical Zeppelin-type thing going on called, "Sad Celibate." We're excited about it. We can't wait to release this shit.

It's clear Gary used many of his lyrical ideas for the TRIBE OF JUDAH CD which were originally worked on for the follow up to Van Halen III.

Take Ambiguous Headdress for instance, it's starts off with the lyrics:

    You wear it well
    You wear it well
She'll wear it in whatever the weather...

Have a look in my previous post & you'll notice a song title You Wear It Well.

Looking through the lyrics for Celibate on Exit Elvis, the song may well have been Love Again for the Van Halen III follow-up.

What's interesting is that the heavy intro riff in "Learning to See" is VERY similar to a part of a tune on that Tribe of Judah CD. Can't think of the name of the tune right now. Has anybody else noticed this? I find it hard to believe it's a coincidence....
