    Default Marshall micro stack!!

Looking for a review on this...anyone seen, heard, played it?? It is not the desktop model, I am refering to the 15w 2x10 stack with the head unit also. Does it deliver good Marshall tone?? I know it is not a tube amp...but for solid state, how does it deliver? How would it compare to line6?? Thanks in advance!!

This amp is really just a cool looking piece of furniture more than anything else. No, it does not have that Marshall tone, its a solid state amp and doesn't even come close to what you'd expect from a real Marshall stack. When I first saw one of these, I must've been 19 or 20, I fell in love with it. A buddy of mine had one that was white and it looked incredible. The sound, on the other hand, left quite a bit to be desired. I sort of forgot how the thing sounded though and bought one a few years ago because again, they just look so damn cool. Mine now sits majestically in my jam room but very rarely gets used. If it were me, I'd take my money and put it into something else.

I played one is a store the other day...I had very low expectations and was surprised that I could actually get a good tone out of it.

No it is not a real Marshall or even close...is a toy amp with 1 basic tone.

A Line 6 Spider would be a much better amp for the money IMO.

You can hear Wengie playing one in his hotel room on the G3 Denver DVD.

I agree with all of the criticisms, but I also think there's definitely something to be said for something that puts out Marshally mojo just based on looks, convenience, low maintenance, and low price.

    But that's me.

I own an old Marshall Lead 12, and while I rarely use it, it's a guilty pleasure everytime I *do* play it. Plus, it looks bada** as f*ck. It's like having a midget warrior in your spare room.

Give-in to tiny awesomeness. Buy the Marshall. Slam some pedals in front of it.

Play it without warming up (no tubes), play it at bedroom levels and impress your roommates/parents. Give-in to Britishness..........

Well, I'm way too old to deal with the roomates/parents thing (thank god) but someday, I will pick it up...however, I just purchased a new SG that I'm into at the moment, great tone!! Five guitars, four amps, and a fretless bass...if I spend anymore dough right now, the wife will kill me!!

I used to own one of these back in 1989, played live and rehearsal through it, it does do a decent job.. I actually took and old Fender combo tube amp and modified it so that the speaker outputs plugged into those little 1x8 speakers in the microstack... I took milkcrates and put cardboard around them and painted them all like the microstack speakers and from the audience it looked like I litterally had a wall of marshall micro stacks, while only two were working and hooked up blazing through a 30 watt fender. It was awesome!

Well I finally purchased one of these and I must say I was quite impressed. Maybe my expectations were very low, or maybe I just have horrible ears, but I thought the thing sounded quite nice. No, it is not a real Marshall tube amp, but for a home practice amp I think it kicks ass. The 15 watts is more than enough for bedroom levels, the clean is good, the OD gives me everything from Angus to VH, and even some metal. I prefer it over my line6, yes the line6 is more versatile, but overall the sound out of this is of a higher caliber. I would highly recommend it, it does look cool as can be, and is a solid bedroom/practice amp.

My first amp ever was a Crate Mini Stack. 25 watt solid state, 2 cabs w/ 4 -6" in each.

    Still have it too.

It wasn't that bad for being in a small room. I actually plug into it every once and a while, just for shits & giggles. At low volume the voice of all those speakers is pretty clean. It is a toy though.

I had one of the Marshall micro stacks for a year or so. Ultimately it became trade material for a 5150 II, but I thought it sounded good for what it was. It was also just damn funny to look at (which is the real reason I bought it). I played it for some small gigs--coffee shop kind of things--and it was annoying to have to bring in three pieces.

I highly recommend checking out out the Trademark series form Tech 21. I bought one of the 10-watt models for home and have ended up using it for some recording and small gigs.

I think he should stick with what he just bought and enjoy the hell out of it for what it is. I've already stated my opinion on this, so.......
