Estranged Van Halen co-stars David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar are set to reunite – in space, World Entertainment News Network reported last week.

The Jump rockers have been invited to be part of extraterrestrial research expert Michael Luckman's hotly-anticipated Signal to Space Concert in 2007. Luckman, the author of Alien Rock: The Rock 'N' Roll Extraterrestrial Connection, is approaching music icons who display intergalactic sympathies, including Yes keyboard supremo Rick Wakeman and David Bowie.

The concert will beam a message of peace to outer space – and it may even bring harmony to the troubled Van Halen twosome, according to Lee Roth. He hints, “The headline could be: ‘Aliens Reunite Van Halen,’” adding he would happily communicate with alien life-forms “providing (they) are good-looking.”

In another story relating to a Van Halen reunion, the Pittsburgh Union Review reported, during an interview with Roth, that the former Van Halen vocalist stated that “Reuniting the original Van Halen line-up is just a matter of time,” according to former vocalist David Lee Roth. “I talked to the drummer (Alex Van Halen) about a week ago. And I think, eventually, the inevitable will happen.”

“It definitely won't be rockers with walkers. Getting onstage and singing Dance the Night Away--let me tell you how difficult that isn't going to be,” he added, seemingly indicating that a reunion is in the near, as opposed to distant, future.

The comments came in a Q&A about Roth's new career: morning radio host. Once one of rock's notorious bad boys, the 51-year-old performer debuted Tuesday in the 6 am-10 am (local time) slot on more than a half dozen stations that formerly broadcast Howard Stern.

David Lee Roth broadcasts on WXRK-FM in New York, WBCN-FM in Boston, WYSP-FM in Philadelphia, WRKZ-FM in Pittsburgh, WNCX-FM in Cleveland, WPBZ-FM in West Palm Beach, Fla., and KLLI-FM in Dallas
