No, I don't agree. I'd rather a boxed set of unreleased stuff comes out than anything with the words "Ed" & "Sam" in it. You did ask if we agree, so I'm not trying to start anything.

Yeah, but I don't think it's ever gonna happen again. I think just about any version of Van Halen is finished.
Sammy did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.
Michael did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it.

Q: who was the biggest douche that you have worked with?

A: Eddie Van Halen hands down he threatened all the stage hands that if we wernt all pushed to the side when he got off stage that he would "bash our faces in"

Now the new David-Lee-Roth-Van Halen album, “Tokyo Dome In Concert,” is available for purchase, and it’s super, super, super, super, super, super, crazy bad. - Doug Elfman

I really believe that it was the booze that caused most of the problems, I just got the Chigago 04 bootleg and they sound really good with more band interaction and stuff, Hell Sammy calls Eddie his best buddy in the world. I think if Ed cleans up-which may be impossible-they can work together again. Sam said in a couple of interviews that he has no problem with Alex, just Eddie's drinking.

And if that doesn't work, maybe Sam could buy out Smoking Loon.

    Ed & Sam?
I agree with everything about this except the Sam part. Look, he ruined
their comeback success with his shitty, um, contributions. Maybe the tour
did OK b/c schmucks like me will go and see them just for Ed, but you
can't tell me that with different lyrics, different melodies (hey, how bout
a different singer?), that the music wouldn't have been more warmly
received. The material wasn't stellar, but the vocals tanked it. Dream
another dream, this one sounds like a cat's ass.

Sam may not be as hot as he once was -- or DLR for that matter, be he's solid. Ed's the problem. Come on, if Ed has his shit together (heck, he could hire a bunch of sniveling kiss-asses to help, if he wanted), Sammy would show up any day to make music.

I'm not saying it would be earth shattering good, but it would be solid rock and roll. They'd be all over the media, playing shows, etc.

It's all about the drunk recluse guitar player. Pretty soon, he'll move to Montana and join a cult. He's too far gone. Maybe he can have Al, Mike, and Sam prop him up for one more tour.
