    Straight Whisky

I received for Christmas a book called Straight Whisky which is the history of The Whisky, The Rainbow and The Roxy, it was a pretty good book, easy read. Some little tid bits about Van Halen, I was suprised there wasn't more about VH's club days in the book.

I bet cha the book does. What a shame, VH paved the way for all of these hard rock groups.

It talked about the history of The Whisky and how the Byrds and The Doors were the house bands and got The Whisky off the ground. Interesting thing is in the mid to late 70's they had an entire section on the L.A. punk scene and just skipped over the Van Halen days, then went right into the early 80's glam metal scene with the Crue, Ratt and Poison. There was an entire section on Guns N' Roses.

The foreword is done by Henry Rollins and he gives VH some huge props. The afterword is done by Lemmy.
