    The Mr. Big thread!

I am a huge fan of Mr. Big! They had the best bass player in the world Billy Sheehan, two great guitar players, an awesome drummer and great singing and harmonies! Everything I love in a band.

I thought their last album Actual Size was really good, and at least they ended the band on a great album, if they never make another one.

Colorado Bulldog is my favorite song by them. It's one of the best Hard Rock songs of all-time to me! I also love Take Cover, To Be With You, Seven Impossible Days, Green Tinted Sixties Mind and Addicted To That Rush.
Right Now you're reading my post!

Great band. I only ever bought their first 2 albums - but what great albums they were.
Eric Martin has a great rock voice.
Its a pity they aren't still together.
My favourite song - Never Say Never.

Rock and Roll Over and Colorado Bulldog have the same guitar extravaganza riff in it. During the outro solo to RRO Paul plays a very scary riff that is the same as the intro to Colorado Bulldog....except that Billy doubles it in Bulldog.

Mr. Bigs first release was awesome! Take a Walk, Addicted, and RRO are superb! Not many people know of their first release.
Paul Gilberts debut of his very own song, Green Tinted Sixties Mind, is a blast to play on guitar. Those guys rocked! I did not like the other releases after Paul left the band for his awesome solo career.

Some of my other favs is Mr. Gone and Trapped In Toyland. Great vocal harmonies!

Given their name, I wonder why they never used this as an album cover?

Damn, Yank - ya beat me to starting this thread. I was JUST thinking of getting one going this morning...LOL!

They rule. One of my all-time favorite bands. Two of my fave tunes that nobody ever mentions are "Mr. Gone" (I've GOT to have more cowbell!) and "Take Cover". GREAT shit...

With the exception of Billy, I think the rest of the band are MASSIVELY underappreciated as world-class musicians...

I was way into Gilbert from the Racer X days. Anybody have his instructional video? That was the only thing I ever had to learn guitar from. No wonder all I can do is play fast stuff. They had some good songs, but I never liked the production on the 2 albums I had. It seemed a little too "clean". I do remember making out with my college girlfriend (well, I was in college, she was a junior in H.S.) in my car at the beach listening to "60's mind". We used to listen to that album and then Rush "Exit...Stage Left". Good memories indeed....Excuse me while I go try to find some time travel equipment off google....

Saw Mr Big in grad school - first tour at small club in Philly, couple blocks from my wife's (then girlfriend) apartment. She went with me, she was ill but stuck it out. What a great show! Got a home-made greatest cd of Mr Big, great to walk a few miles to.

    Hi Brew,

I never noticed taht Rock and Roll Over and CB have the same riff in them. It sounds something like Jump and Top Of The World by VH.

Their first release is a lot tougher to find than their second album for sure.

I didn't like their first album without Paul that much, except for the song Electrified. Their last album Actual Size is strong though to me. Good luck finding it in stores here though!

Trapped In Toyland is a cool song.

I mentioned Take Cover in my first post, it is great, I have the video for it on my computer too. I have been thinking of starting a Mr. Big thread all last year, but I didn't know if anyone else liked them except for Brew, it is cool that they have other fans here.
