How About This (To Wrap Things Up)?

Here's an idea, one that actually makes some sort of sense...at least to me.

Have a firm handed, "take no bullshit" producer lock Dave Roth, the brothers Van Halen and Mike Anthony (yes, Mike Anthony) in a studio for a few months. Come up with 10-12 well written, strong, sonically clean and clear songs like "Me Wise Magic", press them to disc.

Perform two-three intimate (and controlled)l live showcase gigs, recorded and filmed by the same producer, featuring some Roth-era classics and the new material.

Package the studio disc with the specially recorded live video as a dual disc (one side dvd, the other audio), release the results and call it "Farewell Warning".

Aside from being a play on words, it leaves some options in.

Do not tour, thus avoiding stress building up over a long period of time, nor inviting comparisons about the "earlier" days.

    I dunno...I'd be satisfied.

    Great idea - you're hired!!!!

As much as I hate to say it even if a reunion happens I doubt us in the UK would get to see em live if last years tour is anything to go by so your suggestion is fine by me!

My mom was born and raised in England, Shrewsberry, to be exact. This is where the George C. Scott version of "A Christmas Carol" was filmed, and home to one of my relatives, an obscure actor named Peter Bromelo(sp).

In any event, what you are describing was formerly known as "rationing", during WWII.

When Hitler was carpet bombing the British Empire (the pilots flew at night using dead-reckoning, and wound up dropping bombs on strategic and non -strategic sights, as well...) folk were used to "making due" with what supplies they had, or were "rationed" by the government.

My mom still is very frugal to this day.

One crap-filled way to learn the principle, however.

It's a good idea but can Ed and Dave co-exist in the studio? Can it be done, sure but it would take a lot for everyone to sit down and just do it.

Awesome idea as I believe Dave is easier to deal with when there is no audience. Valerie commented on how well Dave and Edward got along last time they tried to pull it together just sitting in the backyard talking. And really, I could care less how much modern technology it might take to make Dave sound "good", it's still Dave and it's still the cock of the walk attitude. That is what Dave is all about, not being some sort of amazing vocal virtuoso.

Good idea, but they'd probably have a homicide scene on their hands before a few months are over!

They don't even have to be in the same studio for the recording part, when Motley got back together and did those new songs, Vince would sing his parts, leave and then Tommy would come in and do his.

They never saw each other and it worked out fine (real mature though huh )

Actually one or two of musical projects with a couple of linkers, to tell the truth.

Outside of that, the normal food and flatulence.

I'd prefer a fresh new name that isn't a play on words or anything like that, but obviously I, along with everyone else here, would take what we can get.

Works for me. Screw the tour. Album's much more important for longevity and legacy.
