If DLR & VH tour happened, would Mike participate?

The first thing I thought about after reading the DLR Pittsburgh interview, was, I wonder if Michael Anthony would be a part of that tour.

Given his tight relationship with Sammy, and what appears to be a secluded relationship with Eddie, at least as the actually recording of music is concerned, my opinion right now would be that he would either opt out, or perhaps wouldn't even be invited.

Just curious as to what others here might be thinking about the subject.

If this were to happen, I think that Mike would participate if he were invited by the brothers. I don't think that mike has any problems with DLR and I think that Sammy would not be offended by Mike doing this(after all, business is business and if someone knows this, it's Sammy).

I'd like to think he would. Mike would be the only one who has the pipes sing the Sammy era songs. Of all the bandmembers, Mike seems to be the one who is the most personable, and close to the fans. I think he'd do it just because the fans would expect him to.

I will say this though.....as much as I'd like to see a Dave/VH reunion, if they excluded Mike, I'd stay away.

Well, we'd all love for it to happen. Hell, we'd all love for SOMETHING to happen!!
BUT, we must remember, it would never be as good as the old days. So could you imagine all of the negative comments we'd be seeing here on the links after a concert; how awful they sounded, Eddie's playing was horrendous, Dave's voice was awful, etc.
The point I'm making is that if it were to happen, I just hope everyone remembers that it is not 1984 anymore and things won't be like they were.
I mean people bitched about Eddie's playing/sound on the '04 tour, what will they say on the next tour?

Good point about Sammy knowing that "business is business."Not sure I agree with Vanstonica on needing Michael for Sammy's vocals. I can't imagine them going out on the road and playing Sammy-era tunes.

There wouldn't be any Sammy songs. With the exception of Unchained and maybe SGMAD, I would hope that the whole set would consist exclusively of all the songs they didn't play during the Sammy era.

That being said, I would hope if the bros. reached out to Mike and made him feel wanted, and then offered him his fair share, he would go ahead and do it. If they treated him like a hired hand and tried to lowball him, probably he wouldn't.

I'd normally agree, but I can't see them totally disregarding an era of music....oh wait. Who's Gary Cherone, again?

Seriously, I'd be willing to bet that the only way Mike would agree to tour is if Sammy is involved in one facet or another.

    Definitely in.

Mikey's part of the VH sound. He deserves the respect and opportunity to crank out the vintage VH, he's definitely earned it. I can't see him passin it up.

    Here's to hopin for anything!!

It would HAVE to be the original four, and they know that...besides who the hell would want or could fill those shoes?

Could you imagine the promo ads???

"Van Halen is Eddie Van Halen, Alex Van Halen, David Lee Roth...and Bob Smith!!!"

    Nope...it'll be Mikey

But who says he would be invited. I suppose he would be, but that close relationship with Sammy could be a hinderence.

Just because Alex talked to Roth doesn’t mean, they are going to Tour. Notice how Dave never said anything about what they talked about. I think they just talked about a possible Box Set.

IF they did a CVH tour, do it right or don't do it at all.

Without Mike, it's not CVH. Period.
