Default Let's Stop all the Speculation and Examine the Facts.....

Alright everyone. Happy 2006 to you all. I'm a long time lurker, but I seldom post. I was thinking about everyone here getting all frustrated a pissed off about the Van Halen situation. But, don't get too frustrated. Let's look at what we do know:

    1. Van Halen as a band DOES still exist! Why you ask? They still have a contract with a management company! I would imagine if Azoff had dropped them, we'd have heard something around here!

    2. Van Halen DOES have a lead singer. It is Sammy Hagar! I have to go back to point number one again. If Sammy had left or been fired again, wouldn't we have heard something from the management company? Wouldn't you think the management would be trying to light a fire under Van Halen's ass to get something out to the public?

    3. Sammy and Mike have stated that they have not talked to the brothers since the tour ended. Did 9 (Sammy's newphew or niece) not say that Sammy didn't want to see or talk to the brothers for a year? Well, the year is up. Also remember while work was being done on the plans for the 2004 tour and Best of Both Worlds release, the 2 Dorks interviewed Eddie and asked him about Mike. Remember, he said "I haven't seen or spoken to that cat in 2 years". We know now that had to bull shit! How could they have been planning a release of the Best of Both Worlds and planning a tour without talking to Mike? I think they are talking, but we just don't know about it!

    4. Even though they don't update it much, don't you think Sammy and Mike's pictures would have been removed from the band's sight if they were indeed out? Remember when Gary left, his picture came down very quickly.

    5. For Christ's sake everyone! Eddie and Alex's mom just died!!!! Plus the holidays, Eddie and Val's divorce being finalized. If I were Eddie, I think I'd be a bit distracted from music right now too!

All this adds up to me that new music will be coming out of the Van Halen camp with Sammy as the singer and Mike as the bassist in the near future. We've been given no evidence whatsoever that Van Halen is done. I guess you can look at this post as a rant. I'm sick and tired of reading how people think Van Halen is over and some even WANT Van Halen to be over. It won't be over until someone dies or we get some official statement. Hopefully it will not be anyone (cough, Eddie!) of them dieing(sp?) anytime before they can give us some new music!!!! Which, again, I do believe we will get. I'm also sick of hearing about maybe they'll re-unite with Dave. It won't happen. He's got a job now! Besides, I have to say it again, wouldn't we have heard something, anything, out of the management company saying Sammy is no longer with the band?!!!

In conclusion, just hang in there everyone. The silence may be deafening right now, but hopefully the new CD we'll have in our greedy palms in the, again, hopefully near future will be equally as deafining! Hopefully they have some kick ass stuff in progress!

    Keep the faith everyone!

The three new tracks were horrid.
    Even for Sammy's standards.
    I mean really bad!
Listen to the riff for, "It's About Time".
Ed needs to retire... or play the tuba.
Seriously... these new tracks make 0u812 look like a masterpiece!

    Wow, you somewhat agree. LOL
Yeah Ed has TEN albums worth of material.
He sure picked the cream of the crop.

    I like YFLM.
With the exception of CHEATIN' HEART CAFE.

The fact that you like YFLM takes ten points off your Roth-O-Meter.

Of course, any kudos going toward ALAE takes 100 points away.

And admitting either Diamond Dave or the No Holds BBQ are in any way even moderately amusing efforts from Davey negates your entire existence as a Rothtard.

You have been given Fair Warning, kidstuff.

Speaking of examining facts, let's face some....

Dave's only worthy solo effort to date is EEAS. Period. Skyscraper was Dave's OU812. Every other album following was complete crap with the exception of DLR Band, which certainly had potential, only too bad the sound mix ended up muddying the fuck out of Dave's tone and lyrics.

Sammy's non Halen efforts have also been hardly up to par, with the exceptions of Standing Hampton and, surprisingly, Not 4 Sale. Early Montrose is of course a stellar 70s rock band.

It's pretty easy to see what consitutes their best efforts, when compared to your classic hard rock grooves. It's all subjective of course...my own weak chink in the Halen family armor is OU812. I like the LP for its rockers, I myself can't stand Sammy ballads anymore than I can stand Kip Winger ballads. I myself prefer Ed stick with the axe over the ivories, and at the same time, I'd rather Dave stop fucking covering old tunes, I'd rather back in the day, he put out less Diver Down DTNA Jump pop cheese and more Fuck You Fair Warning Girl Gone Bad Light Up the Sky black oak fandangwangchango.

Halen's good when it's hard and heavy.

    So in conclusion...

    Fuck the Sammy Ballads.

But at the same time, Fuck the Davey Cotton Candy.

I'm an equal opportunity basher when it comes to Capri pants and black chaps.

One thing most of us can agree on, thankfully...

III was a pile o' mass cowpie.

Well, I dunno if Mike is really a key player anymore,I would probably say he hasnt even played bass on a VH record since "Balance". Ed does the bass (unfortunately), and thats why hes doing the Hot Sauce thing now.I bet Sammy saw the writing on the wall and advised Mike to develop another "revenue stream". Good tip. Its not like Mike has ever written anything.

I dunno... Skyscraper had a few gems.
Hina, damn good, Just Like Paradise, knucklebones!
I'm not much into the synth bullshit.
I still love the album though... alot more than ou812.
Especially Hina... I think it could have made a great single.
It would have been alot better than "Stand Up" as the second single.

The DLR Band release was crap as well. The fact that anyone would associate with an asshole like FORD negates everything he or she may say based on the fact that FORD is king or the David Lee Rothtard Army, anyone that travels in the same circles as FRAUD just plain sucks ass! Happy New Year!

BTW I am actually looking forward to hearing DLR tomorrow morning, anyone else?
