    A Change of Heart

I have been a vigorous supporter of Sammy Hagar on this site. I still think Sammy Hagar is a better singer and musician than David Lee Roth, but after committing myself to listening to the entire VH catalog during Christmas break, I have come to the conclusion that VH with Dave had an attitude that VH with Sammy has not captured. The music is nastier, and Dave's big dick attitude gives every song an edge. While I do not know if they can capture the glory of the 70s and 80s, I want to see a reunion of the original line-up.

    Holy Snikees, I said it.

After being a Sam guy for years, I also have come to the darkside. I think for a long time I blamed Dave and his ego for leaving my fav band, and it took this long to get over it. Ha, I guess I can hold a bit of a grudge. But, anyway, this band is probably near the end of their run and after enjoying two five stars last year, I would love the chance to do that one time with the original lineup. Nothing special...I figure if they come out and play every song from the first two alblums it might be a decent show.

True, and I agree fully, but there will NEVER be another VH/DLR reunion and, if there was, it would SUCK! Move on......................

It's hard to believe it was actually "Year before last"...it was like two years ago this past November when Andrew broke the rumor. Just think we are now over a year since the tour ended, which means that we are typically 25% of the way through the hiatus.

At this point, I'd pay to see them do shows with guest singers like they did that one album with

Amazing how time zips by. You're right I'd pay to see them with just about anyone at this point. As long as Ed's on stage, count me in, but to hear a ton of CVH played live with Dave??... !!

I accepted Sam Hagar after 1985 up until Balance. Then I was skeptical about Cherone til I heard VH3 (the tour was cool though). Then I realized how much life Sam had sucked out of all things Van Halen, especially the vibe.

Dave was best with VH and VH was best with Dave. Gary was best with Extreme. Sam was best with Montrose. I saw the light years ago...

Sammy Hagar was never in Van Halen.

He was in a group called Van Hagar.

When I saw that you posted I thought you were going to say that Sammy Hagar is a better guitar player than Eddie cuz you listened to One Way To Rock 55 times while drinking Cabo.
    Just go for it!
