    Mark Stone: Wildcard.

Sorry for the first post being a new thread, but after reading through the "What if" deal, I thought about that Mark Stone dude. Who greater exemplifies "What if?" than Mark Stone? This isn't about collectively miring the collective in the past though. I'm thinking "What if" Mark Stone got another chance? It'd be somewhat of an obscure segway at first.....like "I'd like to welcome my next guest......c'mon in Mark....ladies and gentlemen, live from Infinity!....Mark Stone!" Let me tell you, there'd be some dead air until somebody said something about Stone being the original bass player of VH. They (Infinity) could bring him back on occasionally just to stoke the fire....all kinds of hot sauce and Tequila puns.....you know, Stone/Good Cop....Roth/Bad Cop. Just nickel and dime it to death 'til Stone calls Ed live. By this time, Stone would be all jaded and just beg Ed to give peace and "What If" a chance! This is a stretch, needless to say. I wonder if they could get away with calling it "SRV?"

How about Dick James...refusing to sign the Beatles, because "Guitar groups are on the way out".

It's kind of subjective I guess. Timeline and fortune wise, Best makes his case. However, he's mentally lamenting zipper boots, trips to India, and Yoko defacating in the studio. Stone though....man, that dude is all like, "I coulda' been snortin' lines offa' shaved Largo beavers!"

That's all just wash on Pete's part...lol, I've read his interviews. Bottom line, coulda been in one of only two or three bands having the greatest influences on rock and roll....

    ...or not.

    Ouch.

Take it with a grain of salt dude. I'm here to talk about Mark Stone. The Best reference is exactly that. He and Stone should get together and do a post-emo low-fi revival!

Yeesh, can you imagine? Talk about baby steps as an adult....
I've heard different speels regarding his VH/vh preferences. This dude that used to work for Paramount told me that he (Stone) was a pretty affable guy and was more than content to be an alsoran. Who knows for sure? That being said, do you think the SRV thing would work?.....on any level?

I don't think it's Mikey that's holding up a Dave reunion, if that's what you mean.

Alas, I think the time has come and gone for Master Stone.

There's only three guys that are hanging up the process of a CVH reunion, and their names start with D, E, and A.

I thought they did kick him out, BUT Stone admits he "just couldn't keep up" (from the VH Early Years DVD) with the Van Halen boys... I took that as his talent level. It wasn;t meant to be for the guy.
